Started the game this January and finally reached its end tonight. What a beautiful, frustrating, demanding, and rewarding journey it has been.

Why Sword Saint Isshin has a semi-automatic gun

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 02:34 PM PDT

During the final battle of Sekiro, Sword Saint Isshin wields a variety of weapons. He starts the fight with the Black Mortal Blade, taken from Genichiro's corpse. As the fight goes on, he brings out the spear, gun, and eventually lightning in the final phase.

As to where Isshin gets these weapons, I believe he literally pulling them out of the underworld. More precisely, he is borrowing them from his fallen friends and comrades.

Gyoubu Oniwa wielded the cross-spear, which originally belonged to General Tamura (killed in the opening cutscene).

Lady Tomoe was able to summon and direct lightning with her sword.

That just leaves the gun. It certainly is weird that Isshin is wielding a glock in Sengoku-era Japan. If he did get it from the "great beyond," who did he take it from?

I think the gun was built by Dogen. He was already known to be a brilliant doctor and inventor. The shinobi prosthetic is basically miracle technology for the time, able to function with various tools and weapons that can be swapped out on the fly. It's definitely reasonable to assume Dogen built the gun we see in the final boss, even if it was only a prototype of his.

TLDR: Isshin borrowed the gun from Dogen in the underworld

Just ordered Sekiro because I’ve finished all my other games in quarantine and I’m so excited lol. What should I know before I start?

I've played all the souls games and BB. Probably played BB the most. Is there anything I should know before I start? Thanks!

Unpopular opinion: Father owl is the best fight in the game

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 12:24 AM PDT

While i agree that the thrill and joy of beating sword saint isshin is exhilarating. Father owl is a much more significant fight in sekiro's character development. You are fighting your mentor who raised you and made you the man you are today. Imagine surpassing your mentor in real life, its the ultimate thing that defines you.

Also its much more of an "equal footing" battle because sekiro is not a samurai like Ss Isshin, he is a SHINOBI like owl.

    Just my 2 cents 🤷🏻‍♂️

Gathering footage for a video essay on the lighting in games means I want the HUD completely off - makes for an interesting bout of anxiety every boss battle!

Is leaping kicks and high monk still good in 1.04?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 02:51 AM PDT

Just asking if its worth investing skill points for leaping kicks or just jump on their head if a sweep attack comes.
