    Long slog but finally got it done!

    Final skill point for my platinum trophy in NG+5 was from Isshin, what we call the beginning is often the end.

    i was avoiding going through sekiro because i couldn't stand the fps loss i had in some places due to what i believed was a cpu bottleneck, hell was i wrong. i don't know what the fuck the amd driver team did wrong but they sure fucked up their d3d11 implementation overall. I don't know what in the world i was doing but i found this post and it turned out to be true, i am sharing it here because like me i believe there could be people that didn't know this and could certainly benefit from this. good luck.

    Does anyone know what happens if you don't stab the snake in the eye when you're in the palanquin?

    Sekiro was my introduction into souls-like games. Where should I go from here?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 06:14 PM PDT

    I have ran through Sekiro a countless amount of times and am looking for something new. I have already played ghost of tsushima, want something with a little more challenge. Is dark souls the inevitable next step?

    Umm what do I do. SPOILER WARNING.

    So I have just beat the strong miniboss at Ashina tower and I went to the top and now I'm fighting genichiro will this end the game early or am I supposed to do this?

    Oh Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa was easy... Oh, Lady Butterfly wasn't that hard... Genichiro Ashina... OH MY GOD THIS IS THE HARDEST GAME EVER!

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 06:36 AM PDT

    Serious though, new player here. Been having a blast since I got the game last Wednesday. At first the mini-bosses were really hard and I honestly thought they were the bosses. Especially that guy with the spear in the memories.

    But then I got to Gyoubo and Butterfly and they were simple to understand, I thought the difficulty of the game was really hyped.

    And then he came. Genichiro was a BEAST! I died so many times, I lost count. When I finally beat him, I was rewarded with... a second phase? That crushed me. Ahaha, took a couple hours today to get him over with, and I must say I loved this boss fight. It's so amazing! The swordplay, the choreography, the rhythm. Once I got in the zone I could clear phase 1 without dying or healing! It's a steep learning curve indeed, but I feel so powerful now. ahaha

    Honestly, I LOVED this fight so much.

    I hesitated and I was defeated. Definitely room for improvement.

    Have I progressed too far in the story to fight Lord Isshin?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:10 PM PDT

    So I'm up to the Ashina Castle attack and I'm going around looking for every hidden boss but I fear I've gone too far into the story to fight Isshin or the Owl a second time. I have the option to fight Genichiro a last time and it appears Lord Isshin is dead. Apparently I'm meant to get some munshin text? I'm so lost.

    Isshin’s motivations

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:30 PM PDT

    If Isshin were fine with Sekiro killing so many of Ashina's generals, thus leading to the eventual downfall of Ashina (due to the killing of people who defend her from the Interior Ministry like Gyoubu), then why would he bother killing "rats" and shinobi if the country is doomed to fall anyway?

    any good XP farms around the first castle invasion?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:12 PM PDT

    Storytime: I was going for platinum and while on NG+ and i noticed that grinding that one purple ninja near the end of the game was getting super slow, so i figured I'd beat the game a couple times with the Shura ending since it's shorter and when I first tried it on NG+ (I made a manual save, beat the game for the trophy then reloaded and broke the iron code) Emma and Isshin Ashina were really easy. Well here I am again on NG++ and they got TOUGH like, I cant even beat Emma anymore tough. So after some frustration I'm saying fuck it and will try to grind out all my levels right here without bothering to beat the game. Any good grinding spots?

    Experienced players, what are your currently favorite prosthetic upgrades?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:39 AM PDT

    After roughly 7 playthroughs, the tools I keep coming back to are the following ones:

    1. Lazulite Shuriken - cost-efficient, balanced, functional and versatile. It's nothing too fancy, but it helps in many different situations. The follow-up attack is also really good. Probably the only Lazulite upgrade that I would consider a "must";

    2. Long Spark - it's just too damn OP, lol. I never use it against most bosses anymore, only because it makes the fights trivial. It's very effective, not very pricey and it's really satisfying to use (it looks and sounds great);

    3. Piercing Sabimaru - one of the most fun tools to play around with. Even if it isn't very effective against most enemies, it provides a nice little break from katana-only combat when you keep it equipped. Chaining combos with it is just that cool;

    4. Aged Feather Mist Raven - like the Sabimaru, it can be left ignored on many occasions. But damn it, this thing is fun. There's something about using it that makes it addictive. Teleporting through three-meter tall bosses is so damn neat. Great Feather, however, is a bit too expensive SE wise for me to use it consistently;

    5. Phoenix's Lilac Umbrella - the ultimate chad machine. Unleass we're talking about charmless runs, it's great at everything it can do. It can deflect, absorb damage and even deal damage. Plus, the Lilac version greatly helps against some of the most tedious minibosses;

    6. Golden Vortex - alright, I admit it's got some flaws (no i-frames during the animation, really high SE cost), but what's not to love about this insta-backstabbing, monk-deleting, greedy fan of doom. It's great for farming, and it lets you play around with Ninjutsu a lot more. That's if you have enough Emblems left, of course.

    What are your picks?
