Hey you all remember Lady Butterfly right? the old lady who gave us a run for our money whenever we fought her?... Turns out there was a badass old lady like her that lived in the Sengoku Period after all and here is the story

    Posted: 20 Jan 2020 10:06 AM PST

Meet Akai Teruko (1514-1594) an Onna-Bugeisha (Woman Warrior), she was one of the many active female Samurai during the late Sengoku Period (where Sekiro is set). In her youth--- Teruko had fought in a number of military campaigns alongside her husband and even at the age of 70+, she was still taking names and kicking ass... As at the Conquest of Odawara in 1590, she commanded a battalion of soldiers under her and fought side by side with her grandson, Yura Sadashige. They both fought at the Siege of Matsuida castle (siding with Toyotomi Hideoyoshi) and won the battle. The military might and prowess between grandmother and grandson was praised and respected by Hideoyoshi and his veteran retainer, Maeda Toshiie. Hideyoshi gave her as a reward, the territory of 5435 koku in Ushiku and became the owner of Ushiku Castle.

Her lifetime achievements in her youth and in her old age has led her to be called ''The Strongest Woman in the Warring States Period''...

Her granddaughter, Kaihime would also later follow into her footsteps and become a formidable Onna-Bugeisha of her own as well. Just like her grandmother before her.

I beat the game yesterday (standard ending) but I still can’t get over this bullshit that also happened. Still deeply, deeply saddened. And not looking forward to going back into the fight
