    Finally!

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 07:06 PM PST

After 47.5 hours, I’ve finally beat the game. Now it’s time for platinum.

    Dude I want more Sekiro.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 08:24 PM PST

I've played the game to death. I have over 200 hours played. And I have done everything in the game and I really want more but I don't think that there will be more. With the new game they are working on and probably other stuff. I don't think they will be adding any dlc. Especially when there is no news of it after one such a long time already being out. What have you done after playing the game for so long? I've been replaying the souls games.

    Finally Defeated the Glock Saint

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 11:25 PM PST

After Days of struggle I finally beat Sword Saint Isshin!!! Man what a boss, maybe the best FromSoft Boss ever, better than Gael... And Sekiro is my favorite FromSoft game I think... It was so good... BTW, I play on a potato PC and I had to put the Graphics on Low, the resolution on 800×600 AND had to turn the Fog off from config file for the second phase but still got like 22 fps... That's why it felt so good to finally beat him... Thanks to the awesome community for the help along the way...

Blocking snake eyes grab attack. Who’s gotten it down?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 10:10 PM PST

I can't do this consistently.. the timing is weird. Has anyone gotten this down? Anything I should be looking for during the attack cycle or maybe counting? I'm not having trouble beating her, just wanting to consistently deflect that grab.

Is there another game with combat even half as all-around good as Sekiro's?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 11:11 AM PST

1: It's visually impressive, the animations look good, the 3D models interact with each other in a natural way, it feels impactful. An example of how this is done poorly is Skyrim where the weapons don't collide with anything, characters don't react to taking damage, all an attack is doing is making a number go from 300 to 274 to 235 and so on until finally when that number gets to 0, they unceremoniously drop dead.

2: The core gameplay loop is mechanically impressive on both the player side and the enemy side. Deflect one attack, multiple delayed attacks, multiple attacks in quick succession, dodge, run away, jump over, mikiri, etc. With timing and telegraphs that are challenging but not bullshit. It's not just doge, attack ad infinitum. It's not a glorified qte, just press counterattack when the prompt tells you to. It has to be both complex and challenging to be good. If it's too easy, the complexity is wasted, if it's too simple, it doesn't test your skill but your patience.

3: There's a good amount of variety and depth to how you approach a challenge. Do you go in guns blazing, or use stealth which gives you an advantage without negating the challenge of straight combat as minibosses have to be killed twice, only one of which can be from stealth? Which prosthetics and combat arts do you use and when, if at all? Etc.

Is there any other game that's at least good in every category?

inb4 Dark Souls, it's definitely very lacking in at least #1.

I just spent 10 minutes waiting for the headless ape to get up again

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 09:11 AM PST

Just beat the headless ape for the first time and -after my previous encounter with him and how easily I defeated his this time around- was super suspicous of his body twitching around helplessly. I refused to take my eyes off his thrashing body even long enough to approach the statue to recover my health. I was almost dead and refused to grt jumped by this fucker AGAIN. It took me a whole 10 minutes to work up the couage to approach him an realise I needed to a finisher...fucking genius I am. I know noone gives a shit but I just had to laugh at how a game abouy endlessly coming back to life had me in disbelief that an enemy was truely dead.
