A crazy lil bug called ng+

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 11:14 PM PDT

So I did the special frozen dragon tear ending, and I headed into ng+. I was excited to wreck shit with all my cool stuff, as you do in a souls borne game at the start of ng+. I skip past the into to start, and I'm put into the well, and that's when it stopped working the way I expected.

I had all my key items, and on top of that, the well was closed. I was trapped in there, I couldn't grapple to get into the bottomless hole either, so I did the only think left to do, I homeward boned out of there. My only option was the last idol, and I figured at least that's not the well, BIG MISTAKE. It put me on the dungeon entrance, without a sword or any way to attack. I was just running around getting slashed by enemies with no way to defend myself. I couldn't swing to the resivoir either, as I didn't have the grappling hook.

I figured the only way to salvage the save was to cheat. I downloaded a cheat engine table so I could no clip back to where I was supposed to be, and got there successfully. However, the well was still sealed shut, so I no clipped my way outta there, and turned off cheat engine, hoping to finally start the game. I get over to kuro, who gives me my sword... Or does he? I exit the moon temple, with an animation of me taking out an invisible sword, and still unable to attack, even though my inventory says I have the sword now.

Luckily saving and exiting fixed that little problem, and I'm finally able to progress, but I do still have ALL the key items in the game. Not sure what this means for me yet, but I'll keep you guys posted if you're interested.

Moral of the story, become demon lord of Japan. It's easier that way.

In the Shura Ending, how could the 2 bosses stop you?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 11:43 PM PDT

I mean you're immortal and just get to respawn every time. Isshin and Emma didnt have a mortal blade on them so they couldnt have countered you. Did they just plan to keep killing you for eternity or was it just the best they could do?

So, this "miniboss" gave me more troubles than the Sword Saint himself.

So, this "miniboss" gave me more troubles than the Sword Saint himself.

    The Bad chained Shrek.

Did anyone else had the same experience?

Not a rant, I just want to know if it is just me.

btw I killed the Saint 2 hours ago.... I just finished this miniboss.

Something occurred to me about these two fights

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 12:15 PM PDT

Hello guys. There's one thing common in both Lady Butterfly and Owl fights, Sekiro delivers the killing blow to both the same way, that is, jumping over them and stabbing them in the back. Perhaps because both were his mentors and he didn't want to face them while killing them.

These are the only two fights with similar killing blows.

Check out my Live stream of a Drunken Playthrough of Sekiro 9pm PST TONIGHT!

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 01:59 PM PDT

So out of boredom and curiosity I'm going to stream a playthrough of Sekiro while taking on a bottle of Jack Daniels tonight on mixer.com/knowhereman1974

Ive tested a broadcast before so I know it's going to work. I will be doing a voice over as I play while enjoying Jack Daniel's and Coke(the soda). I will also be enjoying a 50mg magic brownie at the very start of the broadcast.

Im thinking of starting off charmless but we're going to see how my skills add up while getting smashed.

Btw feel free to come and drink with me. I'm a veteran that has unlocked all achievements. I'll offer my advice on how I beat these bosses and will be happy to take Any advice to try new tactics from anyone that decides to watch.

Soooo let's have some fun tonight! Please let me know if you're interested or have any suggestions for a first time streamer.

Why don't people use the sword's thrust attack?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 03:20 PM PDT

I have watched numerous playthroughs and have also watched my siblings play the game and no one seems to ever use the press and hold stab/thrust attack of Sekiro's sword. Everyone just walks up to enemies and r1 spams. Why is this? Is the thrust attack really bad and did I sabotage myself by using it?

Rant : Why is dodging in this game so counter intuitive?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 10:22 PM PDT

( before any " muh filtered " or " you're supposed to always parry " posts, firstly i already did everything there is to do in the unmodded game, and no, not really )

Why is dodging FOWARD ( into the enemy's attack ) the option with the most i-frames? My character is running into the enemy's attack, not evading it, so that makes no sense.

In fact, why does every dodge direction have more or less i-frames? Afaik its foward -> backwards -> side. It could at least be explained or something.

And then : Some moves arbitrarily be i-framed even if its very nosensical, ( Every single one of Isshin's charged draw attacks comes into mind ), and vice versa.

As such you have some moves where the best option for dodging is dodging foward, and some other moves where you cant dodge foward because i-frames will not allow it, and as such you need to dodge sideways or so in order to evade the hitbox. You shouldn't be forced to have trial and error knowledge in order to reliably dodge some attacks.
