Lady Butterfly made me quit and sell the game last time Posted: 26 Apr 2020 10:24 AM PDT Quarantine and a sale made me buy it again. Now I'm straight up shittin on fools. Never realized how aggressive you gotta play this game. I was stuck on big fatty for a week and never beat Lady Butterfly last time. This time I downed em both in 3 tries. I got gud guys! The Great Owl Shinobi VS Sword Saint Isshin Posted: 26 Apr 2020 11:23 PM PDT Hey guys. In terms of the actual combat I think I enjoy the Owl more, as it is just a straight up duel with swords. However, I also really like Isshin, the arena is beautiful and the entire buildup and cutscenes are epic. [link] [comments]

I’ve played through almost all of the from software games but this one is giving me trouble. Posted: 26 Apr 2020 05:55 PM PDT I'm having a hard time landing counters, I've read about double tapping until you learn, not sure if I should trust what I've read. Literally any tips to help me get started so I can get into it would be appreciated. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Apr 2020 10:56 AM PDT I came from Dark Souls 3, which was also my first time playing it, and honestly i had no trouble with it at all, i finished it within about a week of playing on and off and beat the "hardest bosses" (nameless king, soul of cinder, dancer and pontiff) under 5 tries each. Even the beginning areas of Sekiro are brutal, I was stuck on the chained ogre for like 35 minutes despite it being a seemingly normal mini boss? Now i'm up the the shinobi hunter in hirata estate, i can sometimes pull off the counter that you learned, but i cannot for the life of me fight with this guy at all, he always demolishes me in like 30 seconds, and i'm worried it's only getting harder from here. Are there any tips or anything that might prove useful? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Apr 2020 04:31 PM PDT When I first started sekiro mid 2019, I HATED it. Everything felt so confusing and inconsistent (even more than usual fromsoft games). For 20 hours I clawed my way to sword saint Isshin, only enjoying 2 or 3 fights and 1 boss. After 2 straight days of attempts on Isshin, I gave up and shelved the game until December. One of my favorite souls streamers on twitch said that he really struggled with it until almost 10 hours in, the game "clicked" for him and it became his favorite game ever and I was watching him play it and he was very calm in every fight. Bosses and mini bosses that would take me a down tries, he wipes out expertly. Watching him for a while have me the itch to try sekiro again. I started a brand new play through and it was still a struggle at first but I still remembered a little bit of my first go around so I progressed much faster. I get to Isshin and he does kick my ass a few times but I finally beat him after only a handful of attempts. Finally! I beat the game and it clicked! I got back on my first character which I had grinded a few more levels on from the first play though and over the course of a couple weeks I went from ng+ to ng+7. I was able to beat ng+5 and up each in a single day. Now that the challenge of beating ng+7 is over, I keep going to higher ng cycles. I'm playing for the fun of it. I've gotten to the point where I can casually finish an new cycle on the shura ending in less than 90 minutes. The streamer was right. Once it clicks, it becomes such a beautiful experience and I'm glad I stuck it out. [link] [comments]

You guys were right about lady butterfly Posted: 26 Apr 2020 03:48 PM PDT Shes not that hard, I've been avoiding her and I think I just went in on my 2nd try. I didn't beat her, no. But she literally had one hit left on her life meter and just beat me to it. I did use up 3 pellets, 8 life drinks, and two snap seeds. How liberal should I be with these seeds? I used 2/9 and hopefully I won't have too many goes with Lady Butterfly again but people are always like "this item is limited!" Any other tips to make this next go not come down to last blow for each of us? I used all my 17 of my spirit emblems up and I think it was mostly the axe with a few firecrackers. It drained quick, I didn't even feel like I used it. I also have 3 Skill points on deck. The extra spirit emblem ones are tempting but I haven't really invested in much combat beyond Mikuri Counter. Edit, beat her in attempt 3. ;) [link] [comments]
Despite the consensus I think Sekiro is the most repayable Fromsoft game Posted: 26 Apr 2020 11:07 AM PDT Ever since I started playing Dark Souls it felt like everyone told me that Sekiro was the one game people don't really come back to so I was incredibly cautious before starting it, especially as I was so blown away by Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne. But since starting Sekiro i feel like I'm barely tempted to touch the other games and i'm going to explain the reasons I think this is the case. Despite the soulsborne games having large variety in builds I never feel like I need to replay them because to me the variety of builds was more about giving the player a variety of things to try before settling on something that works and then using that to go through an adventure of sorts. At the core those games are about surprise and discovery, so once you've discovered everything there really doesn't feel like there is much of a reason to return, however with Sekiro I feel like the core combat is so satisfying that despite it being relatively samey in the gameplay it is simply put, more viscerally fun to play and as a result I want to play it a lot more. So this leads me to the question, Why do people seem to have the exact opposite opinion? Despite having not beaten the game I have already started a second run (this is mostly due to stream limitations, normally I would beat it once first) so why didn't other people find the same enjoyment I did? After thinking about it for a bit I really can't think of a good reason beyond other people not enjoying the combat as much but that really just doesn't feel like a satisfying answer, anyone here got a better answer? Bonus meme - the second corrupted Monk fight was HARD and my commentary was getting weird: https://clips.twitch.tv/PatientRenownedRadicchioSuperVinlin Also I'm like at the fountainhead palace if anyone wants to join :) [link] [comments]
What to do immediately after killing Guardian Ape? Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:35 PM PDT I just beat him down in the pit by the lotus flower and don't see any way to get out of the pit except traveling via Idol. Every time there's been a situation like this it seems like there's always some way out, like a cave or grapple point so I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. [link] [comments]
Seven Ashina Spears Shikibu Toshikatsu Yamauchi is objectively a painful boss fight Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:33 PM PDT I'm sure a lot of you will read this and say "yeah no shit" but hear me out. My issues start from the idol. To get to him, you need to fight your way there and even if you know how to get there without fighting, you could aggro some random enemy on accident and shit hits the fan. When shit hits the fan you might have to use gourds which starts you at a disadvantage for the boss. Hypothetically let's say you make it to him without aggroing anyone. It's still an annoying path to the boss. The area feels meh and kinda dead compared to the rest of the map. Okay so let's say you make it to the guy. Now it gets worse. The battle arena is kinda shit. The area is already too small for a boss with his reach and then they added those big ass stairs for you to get stuck on. And unless you kill every enemy, there's the small chance that some random dick will run up to bother you during the fight. In terms of the actual boss himself, I also feel like he's kinda shit. His attacks are bullshit for the area he's in. He has huge reach and heavy hits. That alone isn't a problem. It's the fact that you're getting tripped up on shit in that tiny area that sucks so bad. And the fact that he can track you mid air is bullshit. I'm also having problem Mikiri Countering him because sometimes he'll shift like half an inch in either direction and make my Mikiri counter useless. He tracks way better than you do. The fight is like Chinese water torture, it's just small things that wear at you. I like the game other than this boss. Other bosses have been really hard but I wasn't dying because of bad game design. If I didn't have OCD about fighting every boss I'd 100% just skip this guy. [link] [comments]
Does it matter where im going? Posted: 26 Apr 2020 11:33 AM PDT I have about 3 seperate places that i can proceed. Does it matter where i play? There is a different diffuclty level in each "world"? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:12 PM PDT I've watched all the vids of folks clearing the small enemies and then hiding until he calms down in order to get the stealth shot. He refuses to chill after I hide. However if I jump out of the arena he will chill. He even gives up his back but I still can't get the stealth kill. I can walk right up on him but the red spot doesn't appear and he just turns around and fights. So have they patched out the stealth kill? [link] [comments] |
