Parrying the Guardian Ape's overhead and deworming it with the spear is insanely satisfying

How do i stay calm during boss fights!

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 10:45 PM PDT

I am new to From Software and the most similar things i have played are Assasin's Creed and Jedi: Fallen Order. Obviously this is infinitely harder but I am somewhat familar with 3rd person hack-and-slashers. I feel like I actually understand the mechanics and stuff well but I get so nervous during bosses I literally start hyperventalating and I often panic and start spaming. After beating Gyoubu i literally realized i forgot to breathe during his second phase. I managed to get to past the bull and to Lady Butterfly (cant kill the b*tch) but I feel like I could be so much further if I kept my composure. Do I have a stress issue or is this normal? How can I be better?

TLDR: Can I solve my problem or am I not cut out for this?

    Damn! Sekiro is so beautiful!

I just gotta say...I'm feeling defeated.

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 04:52 PM PDT

I'm pretty far into the game, about to make the choice of the good endings or the bad ending, and I still feel like I just am not good at the game. I love the combat, I love most of the bosses, and I feel like the game is fair overall. The only hindrance I have especially, is the camera system. But even then, I feel like it's my own fault for not getting accustomed to it yet.

I love this game so much, and I'm in love with the lore. But being so far into it, I still feel like I'm bad. I don't know if I'm just failing at understanding Dodges and hitboxes, or if I would have needed to master precise parrying up to this point, I just feel like there's something I'm not doing right. I don't like having to cheese situations or boss fights, but in a lot of instances I feel like I'm forced to just to make any progress. Should I give up? Is this game not for me? I just don't know. This is the only FromSoftware I truly enjoyed enough to try, so maybe I'm just not "GIT GUD" enough. My pitiful rant is over. Thank you

Just got the “bad” ending (SPOILERS)

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 06:56 PM PDT

This is my NG+ play through and I did it for platinum, but boy did I feel terrible doing it lol. Breaking my oath and adhering to the iron code felt so awful, and seeing Owl try to throw those shuriken at Emma was terrible. Having to kill her and Ishiin hurt a bit, but was lessened by how much they killed me lol. Needless to say, they made me work for that bad end.

It was all worth it to see that sword pierce Owl's turned back though, that was a hype ass moment.

I can't wait to start a new game to get the purification ending, then to NG+ to get the fourth ending. God damn this game is great

One year later, I have finally honored the code.

Any tips for the Jinsuke Saze fight?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 12:48 PM PDT

I'm new to the game, and I just stumbled across Mr. Saze. He's not very nice.

He absolutely shreds my posture/vitality, and I don't see a way around it. I think the gimmick is that you're supposed to dodge the second you see his sword glint, but I haven't been able to do it thus far. It's super fast, at least to me.

Any other helpful tips you could offer? If it's just a "git gud" deal, tell me.

Edit: Beat him with this advice (and without the umbrella)! Thanks!

I've beaten the game four times, but I have some questions about the story

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 10:32 PM PDT

After Genichiro is beaten for the last time, he mentions Dragon Blood surging through "her" veins. Who is he referring to in this sentence? The Divine Child? Ashina? I think it's Ashina itself.

Is the encounter at Hirata the first time Wolf dies and resurrects?

I understand that Genichiro was holding Kuro captive in the castle, and that Emma and Isshin could not intervene, but why does Kuro choose to stay there after Genichiro is beaten for the first time?

How does Emma know Kuro? How does Genichiro know Kuro? He mentions seeing him at his uncle's funeral at the beginning of the game. I'm assuming it's because he's a noble.

I can accept that the Hirata Estate is just a relived memory, as you could say that everything picked up there and is added to the player's inventory has always been there in the present and was simply unusable. But what's the deal with Owl's death in Hirata Estate? I get it from a thematic standpoint (Sekiro is witnessing Owl's point of view from the night raid, and is coming to grips with his betrayal within this new "false memory"), but how does the flower appear in the real world?

Is Kuro a direct descendant of Takeru, or did he obtain the Dragon's Heritage in some other way?

It's weird. I find the story and lore of Sekiro more confusing than any Souls game.
