Am I the only one who feels bad for genichiro?

    Posted: 02 May 2020 03:55 PM PDT

Genichiro was only trying to protect what his family had lost so much and fought so hard for. Can we really blame him for that? He fought until he was desperate enough to drink the rejuvenating sediment and kidnap the divine heir. And during his battle he uses the lightning of tomoe as a last resort in a desperate attempt to save his country. And after that fails he sacrifices his humanity to use the black mortal blade. All of this for the land and people of Ashina.

    Lady Butterfly First Phase

    Posted: 02 May 2020 03:14 PM PDT

    Spoiler just in case.

I've been playing the game off and on since release day, I've gone through the game 4 times in total and have beaten lady butterfly twice as many times on playthroughs I've got bored with, so how is it JUST NOW that I started questioning how you manage to literally impale her in the throat then she vanishes and reappears on top of the statue chilling.

It just occurred to me that for the first phase of the fight you were fighting an illusion/clone and the real Lady Butterfly was watching you the entire time.

This is a big obvious in retrospect but it's still pretty cool that over a year later I'm still noticing things.

    KDA Emma (League of Legends)

    Posted: 02 May 2020 08:25 PM PDT

I purchased this game on release and almost hated it every time I tried to play until a few days ago when I relearned deflect

    Posted: 02 May 2020 06:31 PM PDT

I guess I just didn't know how the game worked because I reached the end of mibu village before I was forced to look up a boss guide and realized deflecting actually worked on big enemies. Every enemy I encountered above regular infantry guys was terror, I would just block and get lucky. Think I had 4 trophies until the other day now I'm nearly done with the game and can actually explore like dark souls instead of run for my life constantly

    A beginner

    Posted: 02 May 2020 10:11 PM PDT

I just started playing today and it's my first Souls-like game / game from FromSoftware. MAN, its freaking hard. I finally beat the ogre on the first level, struggled through general Yamaguchi (is that right) and the next boss just made me stop playing for the day. I plan to come back to it. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the game a lot and it's challenging in a good way. Just putting some thoughts out there after a 4 or 5 hour first session.

I put spoiler cause I mention the ogre and the general, better safe than sorry.

Relatively new to the game, keeps crashing after re-install

    Posted: 02 May 2020 11:38 PM PDT

Title. I got the game from a friend a week ago on Steam and got really hooked, played for around 40 hours and then screwed my first playthrough, ragequited and uninstalled. Came back two days later to re-install and tried to start a new playthrough, but the game keeps crashing in the first cutscene or at the end of it. This never happened on my first playthrough and I have done everything I've found so far on reddit and the Steam Forums but nothing has worked so far, please help :(

What mini-bosses continue to kick your ass?

    Posted: 02 May 2020 01:57 PM PDT

I'm curious if anyone has had a similar experience where they have all the bosses down to the point where they're easy but a mini-boss still puts you down repeatedly? I'm on my first ng+ and I managed to not die once the entire game through Lady Butterfly and Genichiro and everyone in between. I made a point to not cheese them at all either. However, Snake Eyes Shirahagi killed me a good 5 times and on the try that I actually got her I had used two resurrections and barely had any health left. I hate the snake eyes girls. Oh and headless, fuck that shit.

So what actually happened to Isshin?

    Posted: 02 May 2020 03:48 PM PDT

    Major endgame spoilers ahead!

So when you return to Ashina Castle after retrieving the Dragon's Tears, Isshin is dead on the floor with his sword in hand. Emma tells us that Isshin finally succumbed to his illness. Soon after, we defeat Genichiro who, in a desperate act to save Ashina, brings Isshin back from the dead in his prime using the black mortal blade. Is it simply a coincidence that Isshin died of illness moments before being reawakened in his prime?

Could it be that Genichiro, using the black mortal blade, assassinated Isshin in order to bring him back as the sword saint to defeat Sekiro and bring Ashina back to glory? Sekiro has already defeated Genichiro once, so it would make sense for him to have some sort of backup plan should he be defeated again. What do you guys think? Am I just looking too much into it?
