Emma is the best FromSoft Waifu (IMO)

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 04:30 PM PDT

Controversial take, I know, but one thing that differentiates her from all the other Fromsoft ladies is that she feels like an actual character with actual motivations and a history you have to dig to find more about. I love LOVE all the other Fromsoft waifus, but one thing they all have in common is that they seem to be devoted to you for no reason other than the idea that you're the "chosen one".

I think that's a fine reason, after all it's a RPG, but it doesn't intrigue me. The characters feel like theyre there to facilitate a game mechanic, like leveling. What I love about Emma is that she has a history with Sekiro and the rest of the cast. I love that she has a connection to the Sculptor, to the guy who made the prosthetic arm, to freaking Lord Isshin himself. She didn't focus on becoming a warrior, as she put medicine in the fore front of her focus, but she took up the blade anyways just so she could kill a Shura one day. And unlike any of the other Fromsoft ladies, if you cross her, she will attempt to kill you. She's not the hardest fight, but I'm sure all of us got our ass kicked by her more than a few times.

Again, I'm attached to all the waifus in these games, but Emma takes the top spot because I actually admire her character. Anyone else feel the same?

Confusion behind a certain boss fight.

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 10:53 PM PDT

Does anybody know why Isshin the Sword Saint is trying to gun me down? He definitely isn't attacking me like he hates me or anything. He was fine enough to kind of let Ashina burn and didn't seem keen on gaining the esteemed blood. Now he pops out of Genichiro and is fine with probably letting his name ring out over all of Japan. Is it some kind of pity gesture towards Genichiro or is he oathbound, or is there something I'm missing here?

    Sekiro hints for Elden Ring

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 09:59 PM PDT

TL:DR Talking about candidates for the Fromsoft tradition of hinting at new IP's in previous ones.

Every recent Fromsoftware game had a hint within it about the next IP. In Dark Souls, Bloodborne was hinted at by the edition of Chester, with heavily bloodborne esque hunter design, in the DLC. In Bloodborne, Sekiro was hinted at by the existence of a character named Yamamura, with an armor set very similar conceptually to Sekiro's. Sekiro, as far as we can tell, won't have a DLC, only a free update that adds new content, the outfits being the only thing that isn't just new features in the base game. Possibly one of these outfits will contain a reference towards Elden Ring, but it's unlikely, as two have already been name dropped and we have a screenshot for one of those already, being the Old Ashina Shinobi and Tengu outfits. The third, though, is ambiguous, so there is a ray of hope. Discounting the trend of the hints laying in post release content, the base game is thematically sound, with all but one mini boss fitting the era and world rather well. The first candidate is Armored Warrior, a towering man in plate armor wielding a great sword similar to what you'd find in your run of the mill medieval fantasy, but that's where the uniqueness ends. Apart from wearing full body metal armor, nothing else about Armored Warrior strays away from the theme. The armor itself is still heavily eastern inspired, and the great sword, while out of place, is unmarked and generic. The only other character that doesn't completely fit within the game world is the Chained Ogre mini boss, which is simply a regular man that's just scaled way up. The difference here is the Chained Ogre enemy is blonde, and uses very conventional pro wrestling moves. This is a bit of a stupid point to make, though, as I think it's just a gag about the average height in Japan and American obsession with like, the WWE.

Sorry this post is absolutely humorless I just want outside input into this idea

    Final boss fight

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 05:25 PM PDT

I've gone into the last boss fight with 1 phase of genichiro and 3 phases of isshin. The problem is, it's been about 10 tries so far and I can't even get past Genichiro for some reason. Is it supposed to be this hard or do I just suck? Can anyone give me some advice?

    Owl (Hirata Estate)

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 03:42 PM PDT

So this is my 3rd playthrough and finally discovered you can go back to Hirata for a diff ending (I know, a little late to the party).

Does anyone have any tips and how to beat this mofo? He seems like a totally different beast than in Ashina. I've only been able to get to his second phase 1-2 out of maybe 20+ attempts..
