If you haven't played without Kuro's Charm yet...

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 04:14 PM PDT

I would HIGHLY recommend it. After a good few playthroughs under my belt I thought I was pretty decent at this game, but this charmless playthrough has proven me wrong. I never realized just how sloppy you can play and how much you can tank just by blocking, and in a charmless run blocking is NOT an option. The chip damage you take without deflecting perfectly means the game DEMANDS you know enemy movesets inside and out to take them down without chugging all your gourd.

Today, I died to the drunkard half a dozen times. I died to Gyoubu three times, and I haven't died to him since my first playthrough. Seven Ashina Spears kicked my ass six ways to Sunday. If you think you're good at this game, a charmless playthrough will show you how much further you have to go. It's almost like playing the game for the first time again with how much I'm dying. I think you owe it to yourself to hand that charm back to Kuro at the start of a new game and suffer like you're a newbie all over again. Bonus points if you have the bell demon active at all times like I do.

Just killed Isshin and finished the game

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 07:20 PM PDT

Just had to share that I finally finished the game. The final Isshin sword Saint fight has had me tired up in knots for two weeks. I probably blew through 300 or more spirit emblems, tried numerous methods and tactics. Finally tonight I hear the glorious "Finish it"

Silly what a rush that was and how proud I am of that achievement.

Now on to Ghost of Tsushima before I return to NG+

Thanks for all the tips and advice this sub is awesome, you helped me "Get Good"

I really struggle against the final boss. Is there some cheesy maybe even dirty way to end him? Like with the demon of hatred who can fall of the cliff. I just wanna get this over.

Is there anyone else who plays without the music?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 05:34 PM PDT

I feel like it's so much more atmosphere and real without the music. Not that it's bad music, it's really good.

Got some spare skill points...should I get senpou leaping kicks?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 09:13 PM PDT

So I have around 10sp banked up...I'm planning on using 4 to get Emma's potency, so I'll have 6 left over.

I was going to use them to get the increases Sen skill and senpou leaping kicks in the temple arts tree.

However....usually when an enemy sweeps, I use jump + (aerial) double ichimonji. I really like this move...

Is senpou leaping kicks much better? Or should I stick to jump + (aerial) double ichimonji?

Mortal draw comes with mortal blade ??

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 07:44 PM PDT

Y'all I've been farming for days tryna upgrade my stats so I can go to the long nose masked bastard to give me his "secret skills" bc google was telling me that's how you get mortal draw

Well I checked my fucking combat arts and guess what was there

So what the fuck does the long nosed bastard give me

The long nosed bastard is the guy who tells u to kill the rats btw

Edit. While I'm at it. Does mortal draw and empowered mortal draw carry over, it's just locked until I get the blade again. Meaning I don't have to jump thru these hoops to get these fucking texts

    About the upcoming boss rush

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 07:20 PM PDT

Do we have any info about what difficulty setting these bosses will be on? Like, will it be dependent on ng+ cycle, time of day, sinister burden, etc? Will kuro's charm matter? Or do you think it will be like the chalice dungeons where difficulty is static and doesn't vary with ng+ cycle? Maybe there will be a similar system to the rites where you can toggle charm, time of day, and burden? Just some ideas, because I don't think they've said anything about the specifics
