    Questions about the lore.

    Posted: 14 Oct 2020 10:17 PM PDT

I'll list these questions as bullet points and anyone can reply as they see fit, I'm just very interested in the tiny stuff about all from soft games and so here are some things I'd like to know:

•is owl a part of the interior ministry or just allied with them?

•who is lady butterfly to sekiro?

•why do we fight ashina soldiers and vice versa when we're cool with isshin?

•what does the wolf do between the time of hirata estate and the beginning of the game (three years)?

•why does the owl raise sekiro to protect kuro if he just wants to kidnap him?

•how does owl know about kuro to begin with?

    •who rules ashina?

I have plenty more questions but I don't want to cram this post too much, I appreciate any answers, thanks.

Isshin Ashina fan art by me

This isn't quite as good of a fight as I'd like it to be, but it's still one of my fastest Isshin kills! 3 minutes and 25 seconds, on NG+7 with the Bell Demon and no Kuro's Charm!

Mad a post saying I think Sekiro has ruined other games for me...now I'm sure it has. Tried dark souls 3, can't get into it

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 12:03 AM PDT

Sekiro was my first From Software game. Beat it, and then tried to move onto other games. Couldn't do it, they all seemed bland and boring.

Thought I'd give another From Software game a crack, and picked DS3 since it looked really good.

It was good at the start. I was enjoying the vibe, setting, and the music (so good, especially compared to Sekiro) but...the whole rolling thing feels weird, and the camera is absolutely atrocious.

I'm only up to the second boss, but I'm already sick of repeating the same area. I've had 3 or 4 attempts at him, but I can't stand how far he is from the bonfire.

Sekiro handled checkpoints much better, with them being very close to bosses and minibosses. Oh, and you can pause Sekiro...big plus from me.

Anyway, Sekiro is not perfect and does have some flaws, but damn it's a great game lol

Sekiro inspired build in minecraft. Its heavily inspired from the game with some areas taken directly from game such as the dilapidated temple

So happy after a long vicious struggle, finally beat Sword Saint damageless on NG+7 charmless. Had a lot of close call and it;s not easy, took me 1 week just for this boss lol. This isn't much compared to other players has done but "Well done Sekiro" - When Isshin said it, I felt that.

Just started playing this game, I'm stuck on lady butterfly, just cannot defeat her. Tried my luck with Gyoubu and defeated him on the first try. So happy.

    Yashariku's Sugar: A Last Stand

    Posted: 14 Oct 2020 10:03 AM PDT

I'm finally playing through Sekrio for the first time, and I thought I'd share the story of my final fight against the Demon of Hatred.

I'd managed to get him down to his final stage a couple of times, but never far beyond that.
In this attempt, the odds seemed... unfavourable, save for the resurrection I'd recovered from the last death blow.
My gourd ran dry, and no divine confetti fell from my box.
I'd learned from previous attempts my inability to correctly time a malcontent's whistle, if indeed it was meant to be possible in this phase at all.
All this is to say, I was not overly hopeful.

Over the course of this battle, disaster struck again and again, as I lost my resurrection and burned through my single use healing items in quick succession. Even draining my Spirit Emblems to unleash a flurry of Mortal Draws only barely landed the Demon's health bar south of half.
From here, one more hit would mean my end; I searched my inventory in a panic, but all I found was that blasted sugar.
Yashariku's Sugar; the double edged sword, drastically increasing attack but massively reducing health and posture.
However, as I went to close the menu, a moment of realization occurred.

Posture damage meant little to me in this fight; I was seldom blocking or parrying, for that did nought to avoid the effects of burn, and had instead leaned into my Dark Souls experience of dodging.
As for health... well, I was already to die if I was struck but once, having my maximum health reduced at this stage would be of no consequence.
I chewed down in this bittersweet sugar, and made my last stand.
Getting close was the hard part, my success at dodging certain attacks had been rather subpar, and so with every raise of that flaming arm, my heart skipped a beat.
It was a short run, but time seemed to stand still as I made the journey, until I eventually made it to the Demon's feet.

The demon thrashed, and I had no idea for how long I'd keep up this onslaught, all I could do was keep my head down; continuing to slash, dodge, and sprint after him as fast as possible whenever he took to the air.
It was the single most tense encounter I've had in the game so far, but after one final flurry... that blessed circle appeared... and I lunged in to preform my death blow, finally slaying the demon that had been my obsession for the last 2 days.
