I'm approaching the first boss I've been really worried about NG+ Charmless, Bell Demon, could use some advice

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 08:14 AM PDT

So my run is going great, so far I've beaten everyone up to Genichiro, cleared Lady Butterfly, i wanted to do things in a different order so I can see a different flow to the game and also farm for skills so i want to go to Mibu.

But now in order to do that I have to fight a boss that I just barely made it through the first time, and I'm really concerned that I'm gonna be stuck for a while.

Need Mist Noble strats please. I want to try it legit first but honestly I'm not above cheesing the bastard if I have to.

    Thanks guys.

    I'm freakin' scared.

A brutal challenge I've been working on: 4 Interior Ministry Ninja Fight (1 poison) No healing/stealth/skills(except mikiri)/midair DB on the rooftops only. (NG) This is a cool challenge and really helps spacing/decision making. Hope you like it!

    Coming from Jedi: Fallen Order

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 10:58 PM PDT

I enjoyed Fallen Order, beat it on Grandmaster, and got fairly good at parrying and precision dodging.

Mechanically, will Sekiro feel somewhat familiar to me if I am coming from Fallen Order?

I haven't played any Fromsoft games before.

And difficulty-wise, how much more difficult is the combat mechanics in Sekiro?

I was pretty pissed off the first time I tried countering a shinobi hunter's sweep attack by jumping over it only to be stuck like a pig. Then I remembered that useless skill no one ever uses. Turns out it completely neutralizes them. NG+7 (99 Attack Power)

    Lone Shadow Masanaga no Wolves

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 10:41 PM PDT

I got Platinum like a year ago after 110 hours and 6 Plays.

Just replaying it now and i sucked hard. 7 spears fucked my ass in the damn Reservoirs. Hirata Estate Tower Ninja gave a trouble.

Ive had little to zero problems with the big Bosses and Mini Bosses.

Now ive made my Way to Hirata Owl. And was scared of the Lone Shadow with his damn Wolves.

It went better than expected. Guess im back^^ I mostly never use prostethics. Idk Swords are just satisfying.

inb4 Owl gonna rek my ass.

Cant wait for the update. So hyped.

I keep dying to the Blazing Bull

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 10:26 PM PDT

As the title says, what seems to be the easiest boss in the game keeps killing me, every fight is a disaster, I always run out of heals and resurrect, even the fights with Hanbei are disastrous, every character will eventually get sick and I'll just be broke. I can't deflect right, so with the Blazing Bull I try to deflect the head butt but I just keep taking damage, and firecrackers seem to be the best way to fight the bull, but I'm pretty sure I missed them and don't know where they are. I feel really mad at myself. I know, I gotta "gid gud", but I'm really thinking I lack the motor skills to achieve it

    Having so much fun!

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 05:58 PM PDT

I finally bought sekior after a year and a half.. I was always waiting to get my pc before I bought it bc of the frames on console..

I have it now ans holy crap! It's sooo fun! The bosses are hella difficult to me and I was always pretty decent at souls games but this is definitely different but in a good way.

I died countless times at the chained ogre, ans then afyer beating him I had to fight this guy with a spear that constantly kept whopping my ass. Now I'm at an area in game where I'm fighting this big sumo wrestler looking guy.. He's fat lol..

Anyways just thought I'd make a post.. Looking forward to platinuming this game

Ayyyyy. I must have died to Isshin 50x. I had no idea if I'd ever beat the second phase and then I remembered "Wait, I have a fireproof umbrella." I beat him on my second try with that strat. :)

A guide to mid/late game xp farming (some spoilers)

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 03:27 PM PDT

    Hello everyone,

One of the most time consuming achievements on the road to platinum is completing all of the skill trees, which takes 125 skill points. After recently obtaining platinum, this achievement alone took several hours of my time.

To help anyone out there who is still grinding for this achievement here is a small list of mid to late game farming areas. These are certainly not the only farming areas, or the best, but these were the ones that helped net several skill points. In addition to the average amount of xp earned per run, I have also listed the average time it takes from leaving the idol to resting the idol again.

These numbers were compiled on NG+ and I still had Kuro's charm, so these numbers can be improved by going charmless or via higher NG+ cycles.

    Top farming areas:

Location: Outskirt Wall - Stairway Idol

    • Prerequisites - must be at the end of the game, and navigate back to the idol after getting the Dragon Tears.
    • 5 enemies - 3 Ministry gunners (927 xp), 1 Ministry cannoneer (1854 xp), 1 dual sword ministry soldier (927 xp)
    • Total xp - 5562 xp
    • Average Run Time - 45 seconds
    • Farm Path - stealth kill gunner on tower, stealth kill gunner in high grass, stealth kill gunner by gate, stealth kill dual sword soldier on steps, kill cannoneer on steps (will be alerted).
    • Notes - In terms of time and total xp this is the best area I have found for quick farming. It is also a good area to farm fulminated mercury or sen for higher tier prosthetic upgrades. There is a a potential quirk with the dual sword soldier where he will turn around suddenly, thereby alerting any alive enemies, but aside from that there shouldn't be any issues with stealth killing almost everyone.

Location: Hirata Estate - Main Hall Idol

    • Prerequisites - Will need Owl's bell chime
    • 6 enemies - 3 Archers (458 xp), 2 taro soldiers (1348 xp), 1 armored Taro soldier (1550 xp)
    • Total xp - 5620 xp
    • Average Run Time - 50 seconds
    • Farm Path - kill lone archer by idol, stealth kill taro by the well, stealth kill shield taro, kill archer, run down & kill the archer in the burning path, run back and stealth kill armored taro.
    • Notes - This is the run I used most often. The archers have low health and the all of the taro soldiers are easy to backstab. Occasionally the bat wielding taro soldier by the well will notice you, but provided you fight him by the well you might not alert other enemies.

Location: Ashina Depths - Hidden Forest Idol

    • Prerequisites - Guardian Ape needs to be defeated
    • 2 enemies - 2 Nightjar spirits (1240 xp)
    • Total xp - 2480 xp
    • Average Run Time - 25 seconds
    • Farm Path - turn around and head towards poison pool, grapple & stealth kill first nightjar, kill second night jar.
    • Notes - This route may not net the most xp, but it is available roughly mid-game making it a good option to skill up prior to the Owl fight. When backtracking towards the poison pool one of the spirits spawns right at the grapple point, allowing for an instant backstab. The other enemy goes down fairly quickly too provided your attack level is high enough. The only downside here is since they're spirits you won't get any sen.

The next few farming areas are not the most optimal, but offer other potential benefits:

Location: Ashina Depths - Mibu Village Idol

    • Prerequisites - None
    • 27(?) enemies - mibu villagers (218 xp)
    • Total xp - 5886 xp
    • Average Run Time - 2 minutes 25 seconds
    • Farm Path - Head towards village and kill all villagers you see. Wait for villagers to respawn and repeat.
    • Notes - I saw in a previous reddit post someone recommending Mibu Village, so I decided to give this one a shot. The plus side is the villagers have very low health and can potentially be one-shot, and they respawn several times too. During my farm attempt the villagers stopped respawning after about 2 and 1/2 minutes, but I should also note I did not travel farther than the first hut.

Location: Sunken Valley - Gun Fort Idol

    • Prerequisites - None
    • 8 enemies - 3 shotgun wielders (966 xp), 4 gunners (520 xp), 1 candle holding woman (130 xp)
    • Total xp - 5108 xp
    • Average Run Time - 1 minutes 40 seconds
    • Farm Path - stealth kill first shotgunner, grapple and kill gunner, kill second shotgunner, shuriken the candle holding woman, stealth kill third gunner outside, swing & grapple to ledge to stealth killer gunner, jump & death blow next two gunners.
    • Notes - This was my main run for fulminated mercury on my NG cycle, and has potential for good xp provided you can dispatch the shotgun enemies quickly. The problem, however, is that there is no way to stealth kill both shotgun enemies, and during the fight with the second one the candle wielding woman may alert the third shotgunner as well. Still, this is accessible before the guardian ape so it isn't the worst farm area.

Location: Fountainhead Palace - Flower Viewing stage Idol

    • Prerequisites - None
    • 2 enemies - 2 palace nobles (848 xp)
    • Total xp - 1696 xp
    • Average Run Time - 25 seconds
    • Farm Path - Stealth kill first noble visible from idol, run around outside perimeter and stealth kill next noble.
    • Notes - XP-wise this is far from the best option, but these two enemies are great for farming grave wax. Additionally, you can potentially kill a third noble via shuriken (visible from the first noble, near the okami warrior) to get even more xp.

If there are any good farming locations I missed please let me know! Also apologies for any formatting issues!

Never appreciated the clever design of this arena. Almost looks like a top-down view of a brain.
