I finally got the willpower to finish it after owning the game for over a year

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 05:43 PM PST

Started Sekiro for the first time. After dying about 33 times, I almost perfected the whole Genichiro Ashina Boss Fight this time around. I hope you guys enjoy! :)

    I did it!!!!!

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 05:12 PM PST

My first post on this subreddit was this one. What a ride after this haha.

So I just finish the game for the first time with the homecoming ending. Everything about this game was about hate and love. When you finally beat a boss the emotion you get is at the top. But when you struggle you hate it so much.

I was stuck for like 15 attempt on the Demon of Hatred. And I was like I hope the last boss dont gonna be that hard. I hate in sekiro those type of boss. Like the guardian ape etc. I feel like they are there for you to remember the game never gonna be easy. I feel much better parrying vs dodge in this game. Even if Ive finish lot of other from's game. The only one missing is ds3.

I just want to say I'm so happy and this game will be in my top 5 forever I think. Now all the game will feel slow as f.... im sure haha.

    what the fuck???

    I just finished the game

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 07:46 PM PST

I never thought I would tbh. I'm not a patient guy and I don't play games on hard difficulties, ever. I've ragequit multiple times, each times swearing I'll never play "garbage like this" again (I was butthurt cuz it was tough). In fact I been stuck on that last boss for days (weeks if you count my ragequits). Like always, at first I hated it and then started to enjoy it when I started to know what I was actually doing. Jesus fucking christ it was a toughy. All in all, sekiro is probably my favorite game of all time. What a masterpiece. Can't wait for the sequel some day!

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 10:41 PM PST

I know he looks like he's 80-90, but he also founded ashina 20 years ago and in the cutscene he clearly does not look like he s 60-70, so can anybody help??

Which would you rather do after beating Sekiro?

Found new OP endgame XP farm

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 05:00 PM PST

So after you trigger Central Forces Raid there are a lot of monkeys around the Great Serpent Shrine idol. One of these is a white monkey that drops more xp than the purple enemies in Fountainhead. So rest at the idol then jump up on the roof, stealth blow the white monkey, go back to the idol, and do it again. For me on NG+5 I'm getting 5k per kill so I'd assume it's pretty good for base game and lower NG+'s as well.

Interior Ministry killed Underwater Headless at Ashina castle for me...

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 02:28 PM PST

Havent seen this strategy posted on here or any of the wiki pages so here it goes...

I was coming out the Ashina antechamber window where the interior ministry shinobi replaces the night jar, parry'd then blasted him with the Okinaga flame vent and it accidently pushed him off the castle ledge into the water where the Headless was at and all of a sudden both of them were going at it! The ministry agent died but whooped the headless' ass enough for me to jump in the water and get two hits in to deliver the deathblow, obviously ill have to wait till ng+ to see if I can repeat it but hopefully this will help yall out

Sekiro very well may be the best game I’ve ever played

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 10:06 AM PST

I've been playing games since the NES. I've played on about every console and PC wave since. Gaming is a passion, and I've played a ton of games throughout the years! But Sekiro is truly something special. My favorite Soulsborne game had been Bloodborne for awhile, but the gameplay in Sekiro is probably the most fun I've ever had in a game. It's brutal, simplistic, difficult yet worthy of mastering.

I love the minimal yet effective storytelling. The art direction is gorgeous, as is the soundtrack and visuals. I can't get over how fantastic this game is. Elden Ring can't come sooner, though it has some gigantic shoes to fill.

First time demon bell / no charm

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 04:24 PM PST

I unfortunately decided to try this on ng+10 so I was in for a world of hurt. I was honestly scared to try, but since I ran through ng+9 in <5 hours while fighting every boss (not including shura ending ofc) I figured it was time to try. I fancied myself as pretty good. Turns out, I was....not! Well, I was good enough to get through almost every boss within a few tries, I think we can guess who the exceptions are. Both owl fights took me about 5 hours. THEN, you know who ended up taking me THIRTY ONE hours over the course of 3 days. (I work from home and make my own deadlines essentially) I feel like no charm was in a way specifically designed for isshin. The weird delays on his attacks, the unpredictability, then on phase 2/3 the flowy combos with 2 weapons. I'm so pumped I actually beat it, I don't know what to do with myself now. Well besides crack open this bottle of vodka. It got to the point where I could do the genichiro/phase 1 isshin fight in ~2.5 mins without taking a sliver of damage. Figuring out a strategy for phase 2 will haunt my dreams forever, what a NIGHTMARE that was.

TLDR: If you haven't played with the difficulty items, DO IT. You are not even a quarter as good as you think you are until you get your face kicked in this way.

Also I can link a vid of the fight below if anyone cares to see!
