    I've platinumed demon souls remake, dark souls 3, and Bloodborne but with this game it might not be possible. I'm on my 30th attempt at a mini boss (seven Ashina spears - shikibu toshikatsu yamauchi) and I still can't put a single dent in either his posture or his health. I might be going back to the swords and shields and hanging up the katana, sheesh.

    Owl Father - Help

    Ive watched countless videos.

    Attack is 8. Ive been stuck in this asshole for 2 days now.

    Im blocking and 2-3 deflects Im getting posture broken and stunned r he will get his big swipe through which lowers health, 2 more deflects stunned again

    I am trying to be aggressive and he jumps back into the shiriken toss and I deflect

    A few times Ive gotten into the 1 for 1 with him but man Im at a wall

    I got to phase 2 a few times but sadly I may have to do the whirlwind cheese run because doing it the "Sekiro" way he breaking my posture

    I have done the double Ichi - but half the time after the second hit he swings right back and Im still stuck in the Ichimonji motion and I lose half my health

    EDIT: I finally beat him about 30 minutes ago. I did everything. Parry - ran. I know I need to git gud for him in Hirata for sure.

    Just feels good to be done with him. Thank you for the advice.

    Why I absolutely HATE the isshin ashina boss (rant sort of)

    I can be the only one who noticed this, but in the fight he has a combo where he goes for two swings that you can deflect and then he does a short spin before his next slash that USUALLY allows you to get in a small hit before needing to deflect.

    Notice how I said usually, because I SWEAR he has the ability to JUST randomly speed up the animation whenever he wants, sometimes I would hit him and be fine other times he hits me first even though I had exactly the same timing and that just kills me or sets me up to be killed in the next attack which comes IMMEDIATELY after. It just to me makes the fight feel inconsistent and I absolutely hate that.

    This was the main reason I hate this boss so much and why it is my least favourite. I spent multiple days on this boss in pure agony and pain because I would keep dying to the attack expecting it to come later like it did before only for it to come early with no signals.

    I hated this boss so much that even beating him felt bittersweet. I just felt empty, with no more motivation to play the game again. Luckily this was the last ending I needed to have all 4 so I didn't put down the game really early.

    And as a confirmation I'm talking about shura ending isshin specifically, I don't know why but sword saint does not seem to have this problem.

    Lady Butterfly first phase is perfection...

    but the second feels gimmicky AFFF

    I'm on my blind playthrough rn, and am like 5-6 tries into the boss... I'm able to get her first phase without taking any damage, pretty consistently now... it's just a game of deflecting, jumping on her red attack, and dodging on air-attacks ending with hits and breaking posture...

    it's the first "really great" fight I've had since I started the game, the 5 mini bosses I fought so far were all pretty lackluster... but the 2nd phase of butterfly feels very very gimmicky... the guys she spawns are not hard to deal with, but just tedious.. and the golden butterfly kind of attack is just bs which kills me in 1 hit sometimes in the middle of while im fighting her...

    imo a 2nd phase should be more of the 1st, not more IN the 1st

    or am i missing something?

    God, I'm sick of the Guardian Monkey farting and throwing poop over me for the last hour

    He has such random move sets it hard to predict what he's going to do next. The only thing that works for me is to go to his side or back and start attacking but then he farts on my face and starts throwing poop, giving poison damage. Even by the time I manage to finish phase 1, I end up using most of my healing gourds leaving only 1-2 for the phase 2 where he get even more aggressive and starting swinging his sword wildly. Not to mention, it's just disgusting to even fight him.

    Any tips on avoiding the fart and poop attacks? I feel like I'll be needing a shower when this is all over.

    Such a good game

    So I bought the game back in March and found the difficulty challenging yet fun until I got to genichiro then I rage quit for 2 months. Well started back up 3 weeks ago and I'm now down to just the demon of hatred, end owl fight, and isshin. I'm nervous to start a new game+ since I struggled enough the first play thru, but I think I can get the platinum achievement for this game it will be my first platinum achievement for any game

    well i've got two questions about this. firstly, is this fight optional? i end up spending a while on each boss fight but this one is getting a bit lengthy. but secondly, is there any way to not take damage during the terror scream in phase 2? i can't seem to run away from it fast enough and it chips always my health until i die.
