    Level design

    Posted: 06 Apr 2020 07:12 PM PDT

So I'm not very far into Sekiro at all, so maybe this is something that becomes even more noticable as the game progresses. But I've just gotta say that the map design for Ashina Castle stood out to me like none ever had. It's kind of insane what they managed to do with it; making it so open and huge, but still maze like and with so many different and hidden pathways. The verticality also feels very impressive, and it's visually striking. I don't know much about game design so it's hard for me to put into words what I mean but I hope I can get my point across. Then again maybe I'm completely wrong and this map is a fucking disorganized mess that just kinda looks neat on the surface. But to me it seemed like one of the most impressive (or at least noticeable) maps that I've ever played. What do y'all think?

just beat owl(father) on my 4th try!

    Posted: 06 Apr 2020 10:05 PM PDT

Sorry if this is piling on to the "just beat x boss!!!!!" posts or if it looks like I'm bragging, I'm honestly just in disbelief rn and I have no one else to share it with. It definitely helped that I beat great owl right before father but god damn that was exhilarating nonetheless. Incredible fight too, it truly felt like a battle between two hardened shinobi warriors, with owl having the same tricks up his sleeve that you do. Not a battle that I'll soon forget. Bravo, FromSoft.
