    Um, so I just bought this game on a whim like 2 hours ago thinking it was just an immersive-samurai-lore rich-game. I got it to play to pass the time before Ghost of Tsushima comes out. Boy am I wrong...it looks great and is very samurai-y...but this shit is fucking HARD. Like real hard.

    I'm getting killed by a rooster (??) so many times there is a rot disease spreading and I guess my exp points are halved every time I die. I don't think I'm understanding what's going on here fully.

    Please fuckin help me. I don't want to quit but I've never played anything remotely close to this type of game.

    Also the FAQ says there a way to change the voice back to English but I can't find that in the options. Sorry in advanced, but any help is appreciated.

    Edit: So thank you for all of the help folks! I am not giving up. The combat is very satisfying when it does happen (even if it's accidentally) for a second or two. I have been playing for close to 4 hours straight now and am still in the Ashina Outskirts. I have a 10% to get Unseen Aid now hahaha

    Turns out I was trying to do the entire area (from the wolves to the chained Ogre) without the second gourd charge, without the knowledge of the thrust attack, without knowing I could train with the sword guy...AND I didn't know there was a second Sculptor's Idol before the Chained Ogre. Point is, I think I've got this. Now im going to sleep.

    SSI's 7-hit spear combo is an absolute bitch if you're trying to play deflection focused.

    Currently NG+5, Demon Bell on, no Kuro's Charm. Trying to beat him with an aggressive, attack- and deflect- heavy play style, so not running from him or any of his combos but rather running right at him and trying to deflect them. His second phase spear combo is a bitch. The timing is really difficult to get down and it absolutely decimates your posture if even one hit of it lands, usually breaking your posture, leaving you stunned and open to be one-shot killed by the next move of the combo. Usually on my fights with him I would either see the combo coming or deflect the first hit and run away, then just Mikiri counter the thrust attack, but like I said I'm trying to master this fight with deflections and it's just brutal. I love it.
