    Thank Heavens

So after a good 10 attempts I finally beat this guy. I'm still suffering from my Bloodborne/darksouls muscle memory but I'm really starting to love the combat system in this game. I know it's probably not as smooth as can be but I was really happy with how I managed the second guy coming up.

    OWL (Father) CHEESE First Phase

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 08:11 PM PDT

    Hi everyone,

I have used reddit so many times over the years but have never posted anything myself. I have been indebted to so many users over the years for tips and strategies and I think I finally stumbled upon my own strategy worth posting.

As far as I have seen, the general consensus for Owl (father) is that there is no way to cheese him. However, I discovered that you can shuriken him from the entrance to the room without drawing any agro. The strategy is as follows:

    1. Use Ceremonial Tanto to gain an additional 5 spirit emblems
    2. Heal using gourd
    3. Use charged shuriken throws (Lazulite works best) at Owl from the arena entrance
    4. Use 3 charged throws of Lazulite Shuriken at a time (costs 6 emblems)
    5. Repeat steps 1-4

I would utilize this strategy until I had used 6 healing gourds and then I could essentially one-shot Owl for his first phase. I would also typically have 10 spirit emblems (from 20) left to employ firecrackers during his second phase. You could utilize more emblems to save a couple of healing gourds if you weren't planning on using them during phase 2.

I understand this may not be a cheese per se, because you have to trade some healing gourds, but being able to consistently enter phase 2 of the fight without any real effort seemed post-worthy to me. I hope this helps!

Update on my Sekiro blind run and thanks to you all

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 01:52 PM PDT

Hi, I posted here a couple days ago asking about hints and if I could avoid patching the game to consume less internet.

I'm having a blast with this game, it's cool and kinda intimidating with its difficulty but it never felt unfair, at least thats what I think for now, things might change if I get a sudden game over cause everyone got dragonrot or something like that

I also want to thank you all for your tips, I try to deflect as much as I can and also I hold my guard up to regain posture

The chained ogre beat me an embarassing amount of time, he kicked my ass so much that everyone caught dragonrot and I mean EVERYONE Thanksfully he went down and I found a way to heal the dragonrot Everything went smoothly, I deleted the fat poison bandit first try and then spent the next hours with lady butterfly using my face to clear the hirata basement

Fun times Bitch is dead tho

I then went into snake valley, really really cool, loved it The screaming horseman died at my second try, fun battle but nothing compared to lady butterfly

Now after getting brutally stomped once by that bull I beat it and died to a goon after [it was pretty embarassing] and when I woke up I was at a new idol so that was weird

After that I got kinda lost I killed a giant with a bell I found some dungeons and now I am at this really cool temple getting my ass monk'd

Really really cool, love the monks as enemy

So this is just a post to vent my excitement for this game since I dont really have anyone to speak about it!

I'm having a blast and I can't wait to see what this game will show me next!

Ps: prosthetics are a blast, love them

Pps: as always tips from you veterans are always welcome, try to keep it spoiler free if you can tho!

I hated the Owl fight when I began, but I loved it when I finally beat him

Idk how the fuck this game manages to make me get so pissed at every boss fight, but at the end feel so happy fighting them. No game ever makes this type of satisfaction

Shura might not be my favorite ending for obvious reasons but somehow I just can't deny how fun it was to fight Emma and Isshin. Guilty as charged but oddly satisfied by their fighting style.

Did anyone else find Emma/Isshin more difficult than Genichiro/Isshin, Sword of Saint?

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 08:22 AM PDT

I'm currently facing off against Emma/Isshin for the first time on NG+2 and think its much harder. I was able to defeat Genichiro/Isshin fairly easily by using suzaku's umbrella for phases 3 & 4. For some reason I can't get the flow of this fight down.

Note: I've beaten every boss in previous runs. Owl Father & The Big Dick Demon gave me the most trouble.

Help with way of Tomoe genichiro

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 08:12 PM PDT

It took me 4 tries to beat the demon of hatred, and so all that's left for me is taking out isshin and I thought genichiro would be a breeze considering he was one of my favourite bosses beforehand and how easy everyone says he is.

But I just reached 30 deaths to him, and I've tried everything from hit and run to really aggressive and deflecting which was how I beat him last time, he's just so aggressive and seems to posture break me and one shot me with any of his combos.

    Any tips?

Sword saint Isshin is such a good boss

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 02:13 PM PDT

I just beat the game and honestly so many bosses stand out as good bosses to me. Owl, Isshin (both of them), butterfly and Emma. They were fights that I immediately lost each time but when I finally beat them it wasn't any scraping by with a couple of heals left but almost perfect runs and I really think that highlights a good boss

How to kill Shinobi Hunter in Hirata Estate

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 06:40 PM PDT

One way is to eliminate all the minions first and then go at him with Mikiri counter.
but today I discovered something interesting. I made the Shinobi hunter follow me back to the bridge as I ran away and I stopped at the stairs realizing the shinobi hunter seems to be stuck at the top of the stairs. So I attacked him a few times and he did not attack me. It seems that the top of the stairs near the bridge can glitch the shinobi hunter into not attacking you. If you suck at sekiro like me this might help you use firecracker prosthetic just incase he unglitches so his posture bar goes up.
