Every terror enemy can f*ck off and die

They're the "bloodborne worms" of Sekiro but worse.

    I just can't deal.

    Go away.

    Signed, me.

It’s like learning a new instrument

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 10:01 PM PST

I swear I could say that about every souls games. And while the combat carries over for DS and Bloodborne; Sekiro is on another level. I adore the Lovecraftian Horror aesthetic in Bloodborne. So for this to surpass that is really saying something. It's probably my favorite Souls game. It's like all the best parts with improvements. I'm only at the Estate boss, but that's because I've been training for hours. And farming like a madman. I've got the skill that gives health with the death blows (which is every enemy so far) and some good prosthetic ones. Not to mention spirit emblem upgrades. Though I don't like that it's one one. 7 or 8 points for 2 spirit emblems is sort of crazy. Anyway, I don't know how it is the souls games never feel like wasted time. Even when the hours fly by. And there is still so much combat to master. Like an instrument. Glad I finally picked it up. As a genuinely lover of Fromsoftware games I'm surprised I waited this long. Though honestly, it feels like I'm playing it at the perfect time. Like I discovered it precisely when I was supposed to. Frankly, I don't give a fuck about Demon Souls right now. I'll be busy for a while. To master all the combat; I can only imagine how long that would take. Yet again, it somehow doesn't feel like wasted time. Sorry, this got much longer that expected. But I just had to stop and write a love letter to this game. You fucking did it Miyazaki (again). Not sure if it sounds weird to say that this game feels very literal ancient Japan, but it does. Alright, you're either a trooper for reading all the way, love the game much as me, or both. Probably both.

You all said this game would be hard. You said it would be a challenge. And I thought, hey, a good challenge would be fun. So I got it. I downloaded it and opened it up. And then I realized what I got myself into. I died multiple times just getting to the tower, the part where you don't have a sword. I must have died 5 times getting out of the first area. I spent almost 2 hours getting past the mini boss in Ashina Outskirts. I think by the time I'm finished with this game, I'll have no soul left. Wish me luck

Small details I noticed on my 6th playthrough of the game

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 06:55 AM PST

    1. In the Guardian Ape's arena, there's a small pool you can dive into on the right, where a water fall is. You can pick up a Precious Bait and see some debris from the Fountainhead Palace, foreshadowing how the waters flow there.

    2. The Nightjar ninja's feather mantles are very similar to the one that Owl wears, possibly implying some relation between the two. Perhaps he trained them?

    3. During the phase of the game where Ministry Shinobi infiltrate Ashina Castle, when you go up the left side of the castle being guarded by the Purple Cloaks, you can find one Purple Cloak that has a similar appearance to the one that talks with Juzou. They may be of a similar rank or possibly the same person.

    4. If you visit Mibu Village before going to the Sunken Valley, you may have 4 to 5 Mibu Villager phantoms constantly spawning near and harassing you. It's what happened to me, and they're all very annoying.

    5. I think most of us noticed there there's a Great Carp skeleton with fluorescent centipede larvae on it, which may indicate that that's the most recently deceased one. But there are also 2 more Great Carp skeletons near by.

    6. During the Hirata Estate memory, if you go down a path near the well, you end up in a bamboo clearing with two Shinobi Hunters. I found this because I finally decided to check out what escape path the bandits were talking about.

    7. When you're speaking with Owl during the Hirata Estate memory, he doesn't have his weapon on him as he pretends to die.

    8. This seems really obvious in hindsight but I only realized it while trying to do the Shura gauntlet. When firebender Isshin does his firestorm one mind combo, the areas of with snow on them are always safe spots.

What have you guys noticed on your repeat playthroughs?

    I'm lost, pls help.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 03:36 PM PST

So I recently bought sekiro, everything cool and all, but I'm lost. I killed like 5 bosses, but I'm pretty sure I messed up, because first I fought the horse guy, then the armored knight, Juzou, lady butterfly and now I'm in the hidden forest. How do I even progress through the game?! At least in other souls like games was a main path advising where to go, but in sekiro it's total chaos if it comes to areas, but it might me just me since I'm new.

anyways I seek help asap and advice how should I progress through the game.

Picked up this game yesterday. First FromSoft game. Extremely satisfying but could use some help now!

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 04:08 PM PST

I made it to Ashina Castle, now I'm trying to kill this General that's surrounded by guards, I'm on the rooftops and these guys wielding shurikens keep ambushing me before I even get a chance to fight the general. There's so many of them and none of the guides on google mention them? Some of them literally just kamikaze and blow themselves up to insta-kill me. Idk how to even kill all of them, I get spotted as soon as I jump out the window. Any advice?
