I've been doing some pixel art lately, and I decided to do Owl because he's one of my favorite bosses in the game

Having played most other FromSoft games, IMO Sekiro has, by far, the best and most satisfying combat of all of them, and maybe even of any game I've ever played.

I played Nioh as well, and when my brother got me Sekiro for Xmas, I was going into it thinking it would be like that. I knew little to nothing about it. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the game, but the combat... Once I learned how to properly play the game, i.e. posture and attacking mechanics, using appropriate prosthetic tools, the combat was what set the game apart. I'd say that story-wise and atmosphere-wise, the game is great. But the quality of the combat and how the story progresses in that context was what really made this game transcend my greatest expectations of it. Just wanted to give my impression of this beautiful, well-crafted masterpiece.

    Point of no return

This game is so much better than souls games to me.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 03:03 PM PST

I never really find myself getting mad at dying. Something about this game makes it feel so cool to deflect and mikiri counter that i don't even care when i die. I just feel so badass. I have died to Genichiro like 7 times now, and not a bit of rage. This may just be one of my favorite games. What do you guys think about sekiro compared to souls games?

    SPEARS ARE PERFECT FOR RATS

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 10:06 PM PST

Normally we use the axe. Especially for wooden guys. But for one spirit emblem. Use the spear. Especially great for the metal hatted guys in endgame. Y'all may know this but I just figured it out rn. Just kinda went "hey this should pull those fuckers" and it did. So I mean yk. Even newcomers!!! This is good knowledge

Spoilers for those who haven't gotten to the final boss of the game

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 04:45 PM PST

HOLY SHIT WOW. I just finished my first playthrough of this game.

Sword Saint Isshin is one of the best bosses I've ever had the honor of fighting. My heart was RACING when I was fighting him. Damn, he's such a hard hitter and an unforgiving force of nature it's INCREDIBLE.

When I first started I really wasn't sure if I was going to like it but after taking the time to practice and get the mechanics down? Damn, this has got to be one of my favorite games of all time. I really hope there will be a sequel one day. Fuck, this game is so exhilarating.

Onto NG+ and the Gauntlets of Strength and getting all the endings!!!

A boss that fake deathblow marker?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 07:03 PM PST

I have been thinking for a while now about a boss that would fake his deathblow marker, then proceed to beat your ass once you get close to him. How would you guys react to that boss if Miyazaki decided it's funny to add the boss in the game?

    Genichiro Ashina

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 12:50 PM PST

Finally defeated Genichiro Ashina. I wish the game kept track of deaths because I just spent probably 8 hours memorizing this bastard's moves through both forms and oh my god. I have never had a more challenging video game foe. The feeling of accomplishment I have now is the reason FromSoft are the kings. Unparalleled exhilaration. Thank you. Okay I'm done now.

Edit: OH MY GOD HE GOT UP AND RAN AWAY. WHAT.

OWL(Father) WAS THE MOST BRUTAL BOSS IVE EVER FACED IN A FROMSOFT GAME

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 09:43 PM PST

I have never been so angry at a game than I was when I first fought owl, I have never had this much difficulty with a boss before, but to be fair, I never played the old hunters DLC for bloodborne, so I never fought orphan of kos, maybe that'll change one day, but right now I am beyond exhausted after how long it took me to beat this pain in the ass, this was almost the first boss I ever gave up on. Did anyone else have this much difficulty with him the first time they fought him?

Why can I only use one gourd seed?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 11:07 PM PST

I got one from the first mini boss and a second from the room you grapple to after the chained ogre.

But I only ever have the chance to use one at each respawn. Am I missing something ?
