    Yesterday I posted about deleting Sekiro for the second time after bouncing off the game a secomd time despite my love of Soulsbourne games. My point wasn't to say the game was bad, but to try to find out what I might be missing that could help me push through and get into it.

    The responses were really great. Thoughtful, responsive, helpful amd encouraging. So much so, I redownloaded the game again amd went back to the bastard Ogre, beat him, and then went on to beat General Tenzen, Gyoubu, and Juzou the Drunkard in short order, all because it finally clicked while fighting Tenzen.

    Loving the game, looking forward to playing more. And it's very much thanks to the kind responses here. So thank you.

    It took me 52 hours over the last month, but I FRIGGIN DID IT!! I beat the game. ISSHIN IS DEFEATED!!

    The rest of the game took me 3 weeks and Isshin alone took me 8 days. Though I gotta play through again cause I missed the hirata estate owl fight. And I wanna get the other endings. Especially that Shura one where you fight Emma and old Isshin.

    What a ride, what a game. After struggling with Isshin the last 2 days, I finished him off on my third attempt today, went back to Hirata Estate to finish Owl Father, beat him after about 7 tries after giving up on him earlier in the game.

    Makes me regret not sticking with it at launch after a hard time shaking off the Souls muscle memory. Now the wait for Elden Ring starts...

    After all the fearmongering that went on here...it seemed to me anyway - his 2nd phase was so much easier than his first

    I didn't even have the spear to use (used up all my emblems w spring loaded flame)

    But feels good to be much better at this game than I was a few months back

    Finally completed Mortal Journey Gauntlet

    I don't know how I should feel about it, I gained nothing, no pop-ups congratulating, no rewards. But was it worth it? Yes, the journey was satisfying. I've already 100% the game and finished all the gauntlet and now ill try to complete the game with demon bell and charmless.

    Plot questions

    How was Owl able to defeat Genichiro in the Shura ending when he has the power of resurrection from the Rejuvenating Waters? He would have to deathblow Genichiro four whole times (two first phase, one second phase, then one more after he revives.)

    Owl is obviously a skilled shinobi but Genichiro is the most skilled samurai that we know of in the story. Genichiro is also not quite as honor bound as other samurai. He does value honor, but he does not commit his life to it, which is why he uses lightning magic - the Way of Tomoe. So you can argue that Owl doesn't fight fair which can give him an upper hand, but Genichiro doesn't fight fair either.

    Another question: How does he not become corrupted like the people in mibu village? Are they not both drinking the rejuvenating water? Or is it some other kind of water that messed those people up?

    Or is it a matter of willpower? Is Genichiro's personality what allows him to not turn into a monster?

    One more: At the end of the game, Genichiro sacrifices himself to summon Isshin to try to save Ashina from the Ministry. At this point Kuro is no longer needed for anything, so why do Sekiro and Isshin have to fight? Let Isshin be a one man army against the Ministry (and eventually be defeated) to at least preserve Ashina to some extent. Even if Wolf doesn't care about Ashina, that's still not a good reason to fight Isshin here. Just take Kuro and leave.

    IMO, Ishiin wasn't that hard. Beat it in like 8 attempts. On the other hand, Old Owl took me around 5 hora and a half. Let alone the Demon of Hatred. What do you guys think?

    (False) Corrupted Monk Cheese

    I'm trying to do the Mortal Journey gauntlet as fast as possible currently and I've seen speedrunners use the feathers to jump on top of the monk and destroy the boss in under thirty seconds. Does anyone know how this works so I can better accomplish it? Thanks.

    Got Aekiro at the beginning of January, just this weekend I got the Sekiro achievement for getting all achievements. I beat all gauntlets of strength, fighting inner genichiro, father, and the sword saint. And I played the last three playthroughs with the bell demon. It is amazing how the game clicks after you understand it. I owe this community much thanks for help and support on my journey. Keep going everyone!
