    I had been stuck on the general right after Chained Ogre, and after that stuck on the Blazing Bull. I was not enjoying the game at all, didn't feel I was getting the hang of the game the way I had the other FromSoft games, and considered giving the game up for good, after months of trying and many long breaks after repeated failures.

    Today, I beat Genichiro, as well as six other mini-bosses, upgraded my gourd a few times, and made two prayer necklaces. I'm starting to figure this combat out, and its so satisfying now that I've gotten the hang of it.

    I love this game, and I can't wait to play more.

    Best video game experience I've had. Took me 96 hours to do this because the game didn't "Click" until the third ending then all the sudden it all made sense. Nevertheless, amazing. I hope we get a sequel, this game was a masterpiece.

    If I'm at 30 tries for Great Shinobi Owl, will I ever beat this game?

    I don't count my attempts at bosses so that's a guess, but I have been trying this for such a long time. I watched the Fuzzy Bearbarian and Fighting Cowboy guides to beating him and I feel like I know what I need to do, I just can't pull it off. I can manage a pretty good sequence of moves, I can deflect a lot of his attacks, but if one of them creeps through I'm fucked - I get staggered, I lose the rhythm, the fight ends really quickly. I think I've made the second phase 3 or 4 times in total, and on one of those efforts I managed to cut down half his health bar. I reckon that eventually I could kill him, but...

    It's getting really monotonous and I'm just not sure I should bother with the rest of the game? Even if I can beat him, it surely won't be long before I hit another of these brick walls, and I'm aware of the reputation the final few bosses have. I love the style of this game, it's fun to explore the environments, stealth around, take on the normal enemies. But so much of the play time gets sucked up by fighting these bosses again and again. Some of the mini bosses are ridiculous too, I still haven't managed to kill a Headless.

    I guess I'm asking: what's the rest of the game got to offer? If it's gonna be a couple of hours of fun exploration and ten hours of banging my head against a wall with brutal bosses, maybe I'll find something else to play.

    Holy shit, what a fight. Killed him in ~12 tries, with 0 gourds left, the best fight in the game imo. Unlike Isshin he has no hyperarmour for a better flow and when he randomly idles without moving his posture doesn't recover at light speed. Even still I don't know how to dodge the backwards jump into firecrackers, he will be a fight I will be constantly replaying. Two words: Pure adrenaline.

    P.S: He is miles better than GS Owl imo. That fight was just annoying. Why does the poison stay in the area for like 20 seconds?
