    Shinobiirl

Only have about 12 hours into this game and I’ve never played a similar game before, probably not a huge deal but this is one of my proudest moments in gaming so far.

Anyone find it oddly satisfying how, despite being over 2 years old, sekiro is still capable of topping the sales charts? Imagine the fanfare eldenring will generate, holy shit.

    Chained Ogre is terrifying

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 10:39 PM PDT

I have completed this game 3 times and I am playing it for the fourth. I have fought all the bosses of this game but none terrified me more than the Chained Ogre. This guy isn't a big deal to kill but the fight is fucking intense and scares me the most out of all the boss fights. Other bosses are fun to play against, but this one fucking sucks.

    father owl

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 12:03 AM PDT

Ok wow holy shit, I just beat owl father on ng+2 (my third playthrough) and it's such a good fight. Before this, shinobi owl was my third favorite boss in the game after Ishin sword saint and genichiro, and I didnt expect father owl to be able to beat it but it totally did, that fight kicks ass

    that is all

The final boss is just too hard

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 04:52 PM PDT

Not sure what happened but the final boss is just too hard. I can't get a rest fighting him and I end up dying. I play on base PS4. It's a lot harder than any boss I have encountered. I just have no chance of beating him. I'm starting to think that something is wrong with my controller or monitor.

Edit: I don't use any powerups.

    SSI is finally happening.

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 04:51 PM PDT

So I started my playthrough at the end of February and I've been checking this subreddit fairly regularly for tips and general chat about the game. The final boss has been kind of built up into a bit of a legend around here and while I was enjoying the game (for the most part), I really wanted to finally meet this guy. I had a pretty long break while I just couldn't get through Demon of Hatred, but I beat him earlier (amazing) and now here I am on Sword Saint Isshin. Fuck, it's intense tho. He crushes me pretty hard at the moment, but I can already feel an opening here and there. I'm expecting it to take a while, but it's cool enough that I'm not really bothered. Any wisdom you all have on this boss is much appreciated.

    Guardian vs Headless Ape

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 12:21 AM PDT

Anyone else think Guardian ape is way harder than Headless ape? Feel like the grabs do and insane amount of damage, and it's a lot harder to parry his attacks, plus he moves around a lot more and is less telegraphed I'd say.

Headless ape feels very formulaic so once you figure out the pattern (which I don't think is too complicated) it feels trivial

Second vs First play-through boss fights death count

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:37 PM PDT

This game does get easier the second time, I quit my first play-through after I hit a wall with the true corrupted bitch and ran out of SEs:

Number of attempts it took me per boss this time vs the first play-through:

    🐎 : +10 vs 2

    🦋: +100 🤣 vs 2

    ⚡️: +20 vs 3

    🐒: 1 vs 1

    🦍: +10 vs 1

    Fake ass monk: 1 vs 5 🤔

    🦉: +10 vs 2

    Bitch of the water: ♾

    i mean WTF!

Even in my first play through, I beat her by luck

Gave up on defeating her & going after the true corrupted bitch again but this time with 962 SEs 💪

Just beat thegame and going through NG+ with bell+charmless - any advice?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 04:24 PM PDT

Any super cool ninja tools to experiment with that you love, or any specially fun ways to play that I should try out?

Just got to Genichiro and my guy has 20 times more poise and HP, so I can only imagine what DoH and Isshin will be like lol.

Overall impressions so far is that it's even more satisfying to kill a boss because you truly have to master it, blocking pretty much does nothing and you die in 1-3 hits from anything basically. It has already forced me to use possession creatively, to use ninja tools like firecrackers purely to be able to heal and to be very careful about how I pick my fights because even 1 gunshot does like -3/4 hp.
