Finally beat the Owl Father at Hirata Estate.

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 02:55 PM PDT

I got here two days ago. Spent hours dying and learning his combos. Even got annoyed and tried to find cheese strategies... There were none. So I just died and died and died. Slowly I got further into his health and then into second phase but I kept dying.

So I quit for the day did other stuff and came back the next day. I was clearly better and more adept at knowing what to do when he did each combo. I realized I had to think of each individual combo as a move, then planned that when I saw each move I would always do a certain thing, no matter what. Then that way he could do anything and I would interchangeably know what I should do. Unfortunately I couldn't beat him so I repeated the above and waited until today. I came in and waxed his ass in 2 tries. Then realized who can I tell about this achievement lol.

What did you wish you knew at the start?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 03:59 PM PDT

Coming into this having just (literally) finished the Demons Souls remake is tantamount to whiplash. I gotta unlearn a lot of shit. Any thing I should know that you wished you did at the start? I'm past the 1st boss (Horsey boy, who I weirdly beat first try) but currently getting me arse kicked by Lady Butterfly.

    Question about Ashina Depths

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 10:01 PM PDT

In Ashina Depths, why is there an interior ministry ninja next to the Mibu Villiage sculptor's idol? What are they trying to do there?

    Owl (father) advice...?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:36 PM PDT

I need some help with this fight. I've looked up guides, but most of them are from 2019 or early 2020. It seems that he was patched sometime after and his posture bar recharges at lightning speed and his overall movement speed seems to be quicker (WHY?!?!).

Looking for some tips for this fight other than "git gud". I've probably done this fight 30+ times and only have gotten to his second phase once.

I thought Genichiro was tough but this seems impossible...

EDIT: I FINALLY beat him. Best advice I can give is to make use of the Ako and Gokan sugars/spirit falls. Stay aggressive first phase. Hit hit parry. Parry his onslaught of sword slashes. When you see him lower his shoulder, dodge BACK. That should prevent you from being hit from his firecracker cheat.

Second phase don't be afraid to run away, keep distance and heal. Make sure you keep a couple of pillars between you and him when you heal throughout the fight. Be careful of his owl spirit powers. When he goes invisible, sprint away. When he does the fire attack, be sure to jump and then Mikiri counter. Overall, takes some luck. Once you face off against him 50+ times like I did, you get a good grasp of his move-set.

    In conclusion, **** that guy.

Do I still need to adapt to Sekiro

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:43 PM PDT

I just got Sekiro on sale after beating Dark Souls, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne. Bloodborne 2 and a half times now. And I'm at the Ashina Depths and I'm really not enjoying it as much as I expected. It's difficult as hell of course and I've tried to adapt to it with Hanbei being a godsend. Is the beginning just not as good or do I still need to get good. Gyoubu was fun, the first general was neat, Lone Shadow was fun ignoring the camera, and blazing bull was fine.

Just Started Sekiro - Finished DS3 & DLCs 2 Weeks Ago - From Software Really Knows How To Get You

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:25 PM PDT

I like the speed and jumping very much

    Very Assassin's Creed like.

I was terrible at parrying in DS3 - and I appear just as bad at L1 defecting

Beat the first mini boss - though I feel I beat him with my worst performance and other attempts where I died I was better.

I got one cut scene already basically saying Im dying to much LOL

Everyone is so spot on. The combat is way different. I feel i get stuck when I tap L1 or I guess Im holding it too long and my guy just kind of stands there

I hated DS3 but played it at night for 3 months and then went and got the DLCs and beat those while questioning my sanity

I am correct in there is no endurance and texhnically the amount of attack does not deplete my energy?

    sabimaru floating passage [Charmless]

Which boss increases the most in difficulty on NG charmless + demon bell.

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:32 PM PDT

I just finished an NG and NG+ run with no charm and bell demon (to unlock the gauntlets), and I'm curious which boss you think increases the most in difficulty. My vote is Demon of Hatred, because you can't play the same way as in the base game. The umbrella is nearly useless and you have to find other ways to dodge his fireball attacks (also, you can't entirely negate phase 3). Sword Saint Isshin in obviously tough, but you essentially just have to better execute the same strategy.
