    Defeating Isshin charmless, bell demon, no healing every day until Elden Ring is out (day 170)

    Finally beat Isshin, the Sword Saint. This was probably my 60th attempt on my first play through, I usually Google boss strategies because I don't have much patience with figuring things out. For this boss, I took the long road and by God I feel an absolute rush to have slain the big man himself.

    The fight was so much fun, only his short range punches were impossible to avoid for me. so I accepted losing the vitality and managed to win despite it.

    This is the most aggressive I've been in all my FromSoft playthroughs. I was basically chasing him and he running away from me. It took me only around 8-9 attempts.

    The fight makes you feel safe only being aggressive and fear making any distance, it was excellent design.

    But damn it was so much fun. Gonna reload that backup save.

    PSA - my fiancee, who normally plays FPS games like Borderlands, is now playing Sekiro. I am preparing the padded room and sedation protocol for the inevitable occurrence of rage-insanity. Lets all take a moment of silence for this poor soul.

    Oh you sweet sweet rice...

    So here I am getting absolutely manhandled by Demon of Hatred. Blocking fiery hell with my red umbrella. Getting stomped on repeatedly. And I finally get him to his third phase. Well halfway through, I'm out of gourds and pellets. I had planned to use Malcontent to try and burn him down, but I was short one single spirit emblem. That left me with one umbrella use and no healing.

    That is until the SWEET RICE BALL SAVED MY LIFE. I ate that delicious rice and had just enough health to power through. I had one hit left before I was dead and nearly passed out from anxiety, but I finally beat that daggum monster. Thank you, Kuro! You kinda owe me though...

    This is the second boss where a non-gourd/pellet healing item saved my life. I always forget I have those in my inventory, but thank god I remembered. Now onto my first battle with Isshin...

    P.S. This far into the game, can I still go back and get more rice from the lady in Inner Sanctum?

    didnt kill gyoubu, any possible issues?

    I did the quick kill thing where you jump up the tower and onto the wall, but gyoubu just kept running in a circle in the corner of the arena no matter where I went on the wall, so I just decided to see what happens if I continued onwards without killing him. ive cleared most of ashina castle now but im concerned that not having killed him is going to mess with my save in someway at some point, and I couldnt find any information on the subject, so im asking here if anyone knows anything
