I just fought Owl Father for the first time, and I think it’s the perfect From Soft boss.

The lore is there, the fight is entirely fair but also challenging, and it feels fucking amazing to go through. His attacks are changed enough from his first fight and vary even more in his second phase. It looks incredible, and something just clicked while parrying his attacks that this is what Sekiro is all about. The build up to fighting him ended up being so worth it. What a fantastic game!

I was hesitant to go for the platinum after finding out I needed to grind for every skill. But then I remembered: Hesitation is Defeat. Cheers!

If anyone is struggling at owl 2 fight in H.Estate, give this mortal blade strategy a shot, where he does an unblockable swing, then rolls after. Jump over it and do a double mortal blade. This is only regular NG, but i've already beat every boss on NG+ charmless/demon (and platinumed) in the past =)

was playing and this seriously startled me.

    Sekiro owes me a controller.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 03:12 PM PDT

Well it happened. Finally beat Sekiro tonight and after the last boss realized I was playing with a utterly destroyed L1 button. Some plastic holding it in the socket is broken on one side and it partly pops out if you pull.

It probably happened during my quite a few tries. I felt like pushing the button harder made me parry better. Which was true because if Im not holding the controller in a death grip the button barely registers now.

I beat the game but the game got its revenge.

A quick shower-thought about wolves and death blows

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 07:45 PM PDT

I honestly cannot believe I didn't notice this until about 20 mins ago

Sekiro is always called Wolf in English, and I never understood why as he does not portray many characteristics of one, until I realized he fights like one.

Granted, he's literally a lone wolf and doesn't have a pack, but like a wolf he weakens his targets with strikes and quick attacks, ultimately aiming to be able to land a critical strike on the target (specifically almost always the throat/neck for our lil Sekiro).

Just like how a wolf and many other wild predators almost always go for a powerful bite on their prey's neck to kill them quickly after taking them down, Sekiro almost always goes for the neck during deathblows. I'm honestly shocked I have not noticed the connection until now, my mind is a little blown at FromSoft's attention to detail.
