    I’m looking at you, Isshin.

After God know how many deaths, I can finally join the club. I did it!

Isshin had but one life, and with it he conquered all Ashina. Now that I've defeated him without resurrection, I finally feel like I've beaten this game. How my blood boils!

Once the battle system clicks for you the game is really really fun.

I was really struggling in the beginning. I died to the early mini-bosses probably 10+ times. I decided to practice for a bit and defeat some of the other mini bosses. After I was confident enough, I went up the castle. And I defeated Genichiro on my third try. Though I had to use like all of my 8 gourds and survived on 1/8 of my health

    240h later finally got it.

I bought the game on release date and had to stop playing in April last year. My reason you ask... Genichiro.. I tried my hardest to beat this guy without cheese with no success. Now with the pandemic going on and I’m WFH I finally sat down and beat him a year later. So satisfying.

    I fucking did it!

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 09:51 PM PDT

After 3 hours and so many deaths I beat Sword Saint Isshin and finally beat Sekiro. After everything watching the credits feels so good. I also earned some bragging rights beating the game with demon bell and beating Isshin with no hud. What a fight and what a game! I can't wait to do it all over again.

    Edit: grammar

Cheesiest of cheesy ways to kill NG+ Blazing Bull

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 10:17 PM PDT

I truly truly hate this fight. I've watched a bunch of vids about tricking him into the wall or a corner or using the umbrella, but I still struggle big time. The only thing that is keeping me going is that I know that every fight after this fight is a good one.

What are your supersheesy tricks for this beast?

I finally beat Isshin the Sword Saint, and I bagged the hell out of him for a solid two minutes.

Spent weeks reading this reddit, and it’s made me a better Sekiro player

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 03:31 PM PDT

So I started playing this game and I got frustrated with how it didn't abide by "normal rules".

I spent weeks reading this reddit and realised that I had to spend my time rethinking how I played, learn the rhythm of the game and focus on "planting my feet" to be aggressive.

Jesus Christ, this game is incredible. Beat the Guardian Ape for the first time and the rush is unbelievable. I'm constantly looking to better myself and push my technique further.

So glad this is my first From Software game and thank you for being an amazing community...

    Which one you rather fight?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 09:29 AM PDT

I've struggle and then overcome everything up until now...now I'm just stuck.

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 03:15 PM PDT

I picked up the game when it first came out...and sucked at it. Played again recently and got into (with the help of a guide) and have made it to the 2nd Owl fight. Many bosses have given me trouble (Chained Ogre, 1st Owl Fight, Genichiro, etc) but I've overcome them challenge and won. 2nd Owl fight...I just can't do it. I've tried so many times that I just don't enjoy it anymore. I want to proceed cuz I'm almost done the first play-through but this guy makes me want to give up. Any suggestions?

    New game altogether or ng+?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 09:13 PM PDT

I cheesed the final boss earlier today after not playing for a year and want to replay it but I'm not sure if it'll be too difficult. I struggled in ng and I'm still rusty so I'm scared lol. Which would you recommend?

    FINALLY!

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 04:48 AM PDT

No co-op and no build variety really take away the replay value of an otherwise brilliant game (a personal opinion).

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 08:21 PM PDT

Sekiro is clearly a brilliant game. I love seeing clips of people perfectly fighting bosses while never once getting hit. Personally, my journey through the game this last week since I got it has been sloppy. I've gotten to Sword Saint Isshin, haven't beaten him yet. Sort of cheesed the last couple bosses (Owl, True Monk) with Mortal Draw spamming. I'm sure if I put in the time I could get pretty good, though.

But I find I don't care enough to. I've played all 3 Dark Souls, and they're okay, good but not amazing. Bloodborne is truly my favorite, its aggressive style is perfectly suited to me. I've played through it many times, always trying out new weapons or builds. I've co-oped and helped people with bosses countless times. It's part of how I've gotten good at soloing them, getting to experience the boss over and over.

This is where Sekiro hurts itself a little bit, to me. I get the choice to not have multiplayer, whether co-op or pvp. It's not that kind of game. The only way to experience a boss again is to start over, or go into NG+. It's your singular journey. And that's just it. Singular. It's Wolf's journey. He has his one fighting style, his one weapon, and that's all you get. I'm sure for many people, perfecting his style is a blast, but it's just not for me I guess.

Again, it's an awesome game, but I find that once through is going to be enough for me. Kudos to those of you who go for those perfect fights though. They're a blast to watch.
