Star Wars: Jedi fallen order made me able to succeed in Sekiro.

    Posted: 11 Apr 2020 10:17 PM PDT

For starters I have never played a formsoft game ever in my life. I simply never had a desire to. I didn't. I would see you tubers play games such as dark souls or bloodbourne and all I saw were rage filled unpleasant games and I saw enjoyment in it.

But then sekiro came and I was fascinated in the Japanese style of gameplay that is was a no brainer that I was gonna buy this game. Then I actually got the game and things went south. My total play time got up to about 6 hours and the only mini boss I could kill was the orge which took ages. In those 6 hours I wasn't even good enough to reach a real boss. I was complete stuck in every direction cause of mini-bosses. One direction was the shinobi hunter, another direction Junzo the drunken, another direction was the ogre. So after hours and hours of dying I quit the game.

Then fallen order came out but I was nervous because people were relating it to sekiro, but being the Star Wars nerd I am I still got it. I saw the similarities to sekiro but I quickly realized that fallen order was a MUCH more forgiving version of sekiro. Nevertheless fallen order still taught me how to deflect and patience. Something I was struggling so much with was deflection in sekiro. I just couldn't get it down for the life of me. But fallen order had a much bigger window for deflections and much less severe penalty if I missed a deflection. So throughout fallen order I got better at a core element of these two games that I just couldn't get before.

Now up to a week ago I became obsessed with sekiro again, I began seeing it all over my YouTube page and I got a calling to redownload the game and give it a now shot with my new found deflection skills.

I'm so much better at this game now compared to before. I started a new save and I destroyed the chain ogre first try, shinobi hunter after only 30 mins of trying (I know still not the best but he just kept whipping my ass), I BEAT MY FIRST REAL BOSS the horseman in only TWO tries. Sadly that fat drunk bastard junzo is still wrecking me but we will get one day. But it's just insane how much better I am at this game now it feels amazing and now I see the point of all these fromsoft games. It's incredibly satisfying to see your hard work pay off when finally destroying your enemy that has been slaughtering you for hours.

In summary: I got sekiro before and sucked ass at the game and rage quit. Then played fallen order which was way easier and taught me how to deflect. So I redownloaded sekiro and have made amazing progression and have a newfound respect for formsoft games.

Sorry for the wall of text just had to get my accomplishments off my head :)

I swear I died more times thanks to the camera being stupid than me actually making a mistake. Other than that, perfect game.

    I hate musanagi

This is mainly because of the fact that you can't really fight him in the buildings or outside them. If you fight outside, he tends to force the camera behind trees or hide his attacks in bushes. If you fight inside, target lock freaks out and disables itself when you counterattack certain moves and he can force you into a corner-literally, which means if he suddenly decides to pull out the poison you have no choice but to get poisoned. This feels like a genuinely badly placed enemy (very rarely have I felt this way so far in the game).

Unrelated note, guardian ape, both phases, is fun IMO.
