    I JUST WANTED TO SAY I FINALLY DID IT! AFTER ABOUT SIX HOURS OF TRYIN I BEAT THE OLD BASTARD! This is easily my favorite From game and probably the hardest/most rewarding boss I've ever beat.

    Jesus, must've died 50+ times on that son of a bitch. I've been feeling a bit guilty playing because whenever a guy gets tough I always search online. I always tried to rationalise it in that it doesnt make a difference anyway. Like ashina elite, I knew I had to double parry, all i found online was to double parry. I just needed more time to get the timing down. I havent used any major cheeses I found, or intentionally anyway.

    But genichiro, all I found was "you gotta use everything you've learnt so far" and stopped looking. It took a couple hours but finally I got him a lightning strike away. AND DIED BECAUSE I PANICKED.

    I almost gave up for the day. After that death I was doing horribly, couldn't even get past the first stage without losing a resurrection. All I'm gonna say is fuck that in air arrow machine gun bs. I had enough "fuck this, I'll try one more time but I've had enough for today". 1st stage easy, dont panic. Got hit a bit on second stage and had to heal twice. Alright 3rd stage, my heart was going mad again. Solid lighting reflections. Nice. He trapped me in a corner and the camera got fucked. I died, but resurrected. Come on, just hit me with a lightning. Almost as if he heard me, he did, I reflected it back and got the fucker.

    I almost cried. I didnt continue because I still had enough of the game for today, but atleast I know I dont have to try beat this guy tomorrow.

    Bloody hell this game was an amazing journey, I think Fromsoft have really perfected their craft when it comes to patient gameplay. The last boss feels like the perfect test for players.

    I've played and loved every FromSoftware game since Demon's Souls, and I have to say this game is their best yet. It feels like the crystallization of everything we've seen to this point while still being completely unique and true to itself. When the game first came out it seemed like such a departure, with no online, no character customization, and only one weapon, but Miyazaki once again proved himself to be one of the most skilled artists in the medium. Some of the bosses took several days to beat, but I was honestly glad because I can't remember the last time I actively didn't want a game to end. Fortunately there's a few different endings, so I can't really say I'm finished until I've gotten every one. I'm excited for Elden Ring and the Demon's Souls remaster, but even happier we got this.
