An ode to the courageous fire archer before Lady Butterly’s staircase:

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 09:53 PM PDT

Kind sir, you are remarkable. You and I danced 23 times this evening. That number is magical because it is also the amount of sen you always put into my pocket — never more, never less. You were a dependable and comforting friend on a journey of repeated sadness, and for that, I thank you.

Some might say you are a pointless design quirk. Others might say you exist merely to make sure I have some money, sort of. But me? I say that you are so much more.

You were creative and wily. You backpedaled once. Twice you drew your sword. Once, when my eyes began dropping with fatigue, you even shot me. I took no offense — you wanted only to sharpen my mind for what was to come. Truly, you are a man of duty before all else, and that is rare in today's world.

When I was sad about getting gangbanged by a dozen ghosts, you were there to lift my spirits. When undodge-able balls of light made me beg and cry for the mere idea of one more healing gourd, you gave me a reminder of happier times. Then, when I had survived two summon rounds but the camera got drunk and stole my final glory with one parry/hit left to go, I took solace in the fact that I would see you again very soon.

Simply put, my sword and your throat made beautiful, spiritual music that rang out through the fiery darkness, over and over again. I am better for having known you.

(Oh, and see you tomorrow night, because I still couldn't kill that absolute fucking bitch.)

OMGGGGGGG I BEAT THE GAME FOR IMMORTAL SEVERANCE ENDING!!!!!

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 11:43 PM PDT

    That's it. The title is the news! OMG this game is a M A S T E R P I E C E!

Isshin was the best fight I had! But I did it on the 6th try, so there's some comfort in that? I read online it takes way more than that but of course, person to person depends. But wow. I just wanted to say hats off to these guys man. What a game! Now I need to wait for the boss rush so I can try and play more and more of Sword Saint Isshin. Thank you, Miyazaki San and everyone who made this game! I can sleep now, finally.

Owl father is the best boss in this game

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 05:15 PM PDT

It's not because he's too hard or anything, but he's just fun to fight. I will go out of my way to fight him. I love the music and deflecting his sword.

What's the best NPC in your opinion?

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 07:07 PM PDT

I'll need to stay with Tengu(isshin), he's simply way too badass. And he names you Sekiro, also, when you get to his place, there's literally a BUNCH of dead Loneshadows, he's a chad that slams edgy bois and rats.

Haven't played the game in a year, I want to play again, continue or restart?

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 11:48 PM PDT

So i've been watching a twitch streamer play sekiro, and this made me wanna play sekiro again. However I haven't played the game in a year, I got to the point where they are invading ashina castle, after fighting the two guardian apes. I haven't touched the game since, should I restart or continue from where I left off, i'm sure i lost the muscle memory for this game already, is it easy to get the pacing of the game again?

What is Sekiro saying in Japanese at the beginning of several fights?

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 11:12 PM PDT

It's translated a few different ways, usually something like "let's go" or "come on" or "once more," but it sounds like he's saying the same single word every time. I'm not even 1% familiar with Japanese, but if I had to transliterate it it would be something like "moir," but pronounced the way a Spanish speaker would pronounce that word. Anyone know what he's saying?

WCGW. First time encountering the Great Serpent. Stops to snatch a snap seed after stabbing them in the eye.

There are two long arm centipedes?!

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 09:59 PM PDT

Getting back into sekiro because of the boss rush update. Played through every ending back when the game came out. I thought I had seen everything, but I somehow missed the first long arm centipede every play through! Makes me wonder what else I've missed out on.

I've been considering getting into the souls series and I am curious if sekiro would be good for a beginner

Demon of Hatred is a masterpiece (IMO)

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 12:37 PM PDT

Just beat Demon of Hatred, and it might be my favorite boss fight in the game so far. (Only the final boss left, I'll see if that tops DOH.) I loved the scale of the fight and how epic it felt, and his attacks felt well telegraphed to me, when I got hit it was because I fucked something up. I see a lot of people complaining about how the fight is unfair, but personally I thought it was a blast. Didn't think it was even THAT hard, I struggled a lot more with Owl (Father). Though maybe that's because I've played ton of Dark Souls, so my experience there helped with DOH.

Just wanted to share my excitement with this game, fucking loving it. Sad that it's about to end, but I've had a great time.
