Naturally being a FromSoftware game it's going to be difficult. The fact that a few wrong games and any foot solider can kill you is brilliant.

The combat system is a work of art. Posture, deflections, mikiri counter, perilous attacks, 10 different prosthetics. Who's idea was this? You fucking legend.

Honestly, I've tried playing Dark souls and it just doesn't cut it for me. But this is something else and I'm so happy I got it half price on steam. If I knew the game was going to be THIS GOOD I would have paid £50 for it full price easy. I just didn't see the coverage on it. It's just no way near as covered as dark souls and it's really a shame because I personally find the theme, music and combat much more enjoyable. Anyway I've only really spent time in Dark Souls 2 and I don't like the whole running away hit twice then run some more.

This game I can be relentless. (I wasn't like this at first). Got my Ass handed to me many many many times. My gaming in the last 2 years has been massively CSGO/PUBG rank grinding so kicking it back with an exceptional single player game has just been so refreshing that I had to post about it. Thank you FromSoftware.

Also fuck the Guardian Ape. No boss gave me as much shit as him… yet. And then I kill him only to…. Well…

It's a master piece and I don't want to finish it too quickly 😂 Activision are lucky bastards to even have their name on this project.

Defeating Isshin charmless, bell demon, no healing every day until Elden Ring is out (day 142)

    Unseen Aid, where you at?

Success! What a great final boss this game has. I found Demon of Hatred to be significantly harder, but Sword Saint is such a cool, final test to see if you actually learned how to use the game's mechanics properly.

    I finally did it.

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 12:20 AM PDT

I bought this game on release. I loved the setting, I loved the mechanics. I progressed through, and eventually got stuck on Genichiro in the tower. I stopped playing for a couple weeks, and when I picked it back up I made it thorough.

Next speed bump was the Guardian Ape. He had me put the game down for a couple months. But eventually, I made it through.

I struggled with Owl. But he didn't break my will. I tried and tried, until finally I defeated him. The corrupted monk gave me some issues, but again, I was victorious.

On July 23rd, 2020, I made my way to that grassy field. Genichiro, Way of Tomoe. He proved challenging at first, but a couple tries and I got him no problem. Then he came. The hardest boss I've ever fought in a video game. Never unfair, always reflecting my skill and really showing that I needed to fully forget how I play the souls games. I tried dozens of times, and never could make any progress. I put the game down for months. Coming back, failing again. And again. And again.

Until finally, 355 days after our first encounter. I finally did it. I beat the Sword Saint. I completed the story on what might be Fromsoft's greatest game. I'm free of the burden of knowing it beat me. I beat it. Here's to New Game +

I know this sub gets these posts constantly, but no one in my life cares. So I had to share it somewhere.

To the best sub for one of the best games, we did it.

    I just beat Owl (Father).

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 02:28 PM PDT

Finally. Three days of attempts and intermittent grinding for spirit emblems later.
What an amazing boss. Incredibly difficult but not unfair. Just fucking relentless.

I guess I just wanted to celebrate it with people who would understand hahahaha.

Sekiro is such a unique combat experience, and I absolutely love it. FromSoftware's other games are among my favorites of all time, but by the time I'm done with Sekiro, it might have taken my top spot in their lineup.

Can't wait to see what Elden Ring brings.

I was legit scared to death of Mist Noble

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:41 PM PDT

I tried to go into Sekiro blind, but being a big FS fan, I had read at least a little. And from what I had read, Mist Noble might be the hardest boss in the game. Well, I stumbled across him tonight, and was so afraid of him that I decided to backtrack and kill the glutton first (which was also a pain). Then I moved onto Mist Noble, expecting the worst. And then I killed him. And said "what the fuck?"

Thank you for coming to my tedtalk

When You Finally Beat a Boss

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 04:22 PM PDT

You know that feeling when you finally beat a boss after trying countless times with no outside help and you just want to tell everyone about it, but deep down you know that they wouldn't understand the pain that you've been through. I just wanted to share this feeling :)

Any idea why sekiro didn't get a dlc?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 11:18 PM PDT

I find it odd that all from soft games get DLC except for demon souls.

Did from soft not do one because they went straight to Elden Ring?

I remember it got GOTY, I would have imagine Acti would have let them.

ALSO is there any reason from soft went to activision? Kinda weird

Monkey together strong. Monkey with sword very strong.

Ape strong. Ape carrying his own head very strong. Ape carrying his head with girlfriend? Pain.

    Corrupted Monk done

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 01:34 PM PDT

    I did it!

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:33 PM PDT

Yes this is another i beat sekiro post. I bought the game on launch and have up on corrupted monk. Flash forward to two weeks ago I decide to give it another go. Well I've done it. I beat Ishin and received the purification ending. I immediately started new game plus. Going to go for the platinum.

If anyone cares I think fire ogre was the hardest boss for me. I know, that sounds crazy but I spent an hour on him. Next would be demon of hatred. Guardian ape can also go fuck himself. Easiest was ironically true corrupted monk. I beat that one second try.

Can anyone translate whats on the strawmans dick at fountainhead palace? I bet theres some laughs to be had from the reference

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 03:19 PM PDT

Random Thought: If Sekiro had the same longer run ups or took the same amount of time to get back to a boss room / area like the other souls titles, I probably never would have finished the game

I'm a little lost on where to go next

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 03:30 PM PDT

I've been playing sekiro and I'm slightly lost on what I'm meant to do next to progress

I currently have the I've finished everything in the Hirata Estate memory area killing lady butterfly, I have the mortal blade, I killed the Guardian Ape (finally) and I've killed the Giant serpent.

I don't know where to go next can anyone help?

Edit: I looked around in the depths near the poison pool and found that there is another ape... so I'm going to take a long break

    Sekiro on ps5

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:55 PM PDT

I am currently on Xbox one where I have completed the game 8 times, so I wanted to know if buying the PS4 version would be 60fps on ps5 and thus worth buying again
