    Just got the Platinum

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:57 AM PDT

And damn, it was a wonderful journey. I got the game the night it launched and blew through my first playthrough. I started NG+ with the intention of getting the platinum, but got stuck on Isshin Ashina. This led to me putting the game down for about a year.

However, I just picked it back up about a week ago and I've been playing it every day. I beat Isshin Ashina and ran through two more times to get the endings. I really began to appreciate the fighting style of this game. I saw the aggressive back and forth with Isshin the Sword Saint as a kind of dance between him and Sekiro. I beat Owl (Father) and loves his second phase. Especially the flaming owl followed by Shadowfall attack.

This game is fantastic, and I'm glad to say I finally finished it.

Fulminated Mercury and How to Get it

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 06:12 PM PDT

Found this little gem online and figured I would share it.

What you'll need is the golden vortex prosthetic and to have already beaten your way though fountain head palace.

If you are unfamiliar with this tool it's the upgraded divine abduction. Basically when you cast it surrounds you in wind turning enemy's around opening them for a deathblow. When you have golden vortex after you press your tool button you charge up and then press and hold the key during the charge it's blasts outwards making everyone around you drop loot and sen.

Why this is relevant. If you make your way down to the Ashina Castle idol. Right up the stairs there is a group of gunman and a cannon guy. If you pop a balloon and run up there you can use vortex and they'll drop the mercury every few try's.

    Just run back rest repeat

How my fights with Ishinn Ashina are going so far

Approaching the end of my first play through and I want to talk about the philosophy of the gameplay...

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 12:56 PM PDT

I love how this game lets you get (relatively) comfortable with mechanics and then asks you to push yourself.

The bosses represent the "testing moments" of the game.

Gyoubu asks "you're familiar with combat basics, but can you apply all that against a fast, heavy hitting boss who gives you no room"

Genichiro asks "can you apply your advanced skills and hold your nerve through 3 rounds"

The Guardian Ape breaks all the rules and throws feral behaviour at you, and then changes all the rules again by changing the ape's behaviour in the second round.

The Owl fights ask "can you outsmart someone who knows your every move?"

The constant question of "are you good enough to stand your ground and fight?" is addictive and has pushed me to be a better fighter and be more aggressive to push outside of my comfort zone.

Aiming to go for Platinum after I'm done but just wanted to show my admiration for the game's core principles and philosophy.

    Thanks r/Sekiro!

    Best area order?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:11 PM PDT

I'm sure this has been asked before so post a link if you want. I'm on my first playthrough and I could bumble my way through it but I thought I'd ask to see what you guys think is the "correct" order to go through each area. For example, in the beginning of the game you start making your way through the Ashina Outskirts until you reach the chained ogre. At this point it's good to start making your way through the Hirata Estate to pick up the flame vent tool so you can use it against said ogre. Once you get to the castle you can go towards the Abandoned Dungeon and on to Senpou Temple or you can keep working your way though the castle. It can be a little overwhelming to figure out if I should take "this" path or "that" path. Maybe I need to go one way to get a particular tool to make a boss fight easier in another area. I've googled and I know there're a lot of guides out there but I'd like to hear directly from the community. What did you do on your first playthrough? Do you have recommendations? Or post a link to a guide you think is really good.

[HELP] Can anyone share their save file before the first encounter of the White Great Serpent?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 09:37 PM PDT

So I am enjoying the game right now, especially with a mod skin and I stabbed the serpent's eye, I thought if I visit the place back I would encounter it again I am heartbroken to see it is NOT there anymore.

I am a casual so the game is hard for me I have to check out Youtube guides on how to defeat bosses if I die more than 10 times. I have to check out where the gourd seeds are to stack up 6 gourd heals since I really die a lot. I don't want to new game again just to go to the White Great Serpent. Anyone kind enough to share a save file on that part since I want to screenshot that stabbing part with my mod skin.

I don't want to lose my save file I put so many hours in it just defeated the raging bull.
