[Spoiler] Some musings about the use of prostetics and combat arts

    Posted: 30 May 2020 12:36 AM PDT

First of all, marked as Spoiler because it contains mentions about some (mini)bosses and some endings. You have been warned.

So, I'm slowly approaching the 100 hour mark in Sekiro. I'm in NG+ right now after doing the Purification ending on my first playthrough. That one I did without Demon Bell, but now I'm playing Charmless and with Demon Bell. I just beat the Headless Ape and O'Rin of the Water and am about to face the Corrupted Monk.

Up until recently, I've been playing practically without using prostetics and combat arts. But I've just come across four fights in which I found myself looking for an edge, because I just couldn't get the deflect timings right.

The first was Snake Eyes Shirafuji. I ended up using Sabimaru on her.
The second was the other Snake Eyes. There, I took out two minions first, then did a deathblow on her, then puppeteered the final minion, then Flame Vented her ass to destroy her health even more.

With the Headless Ape, Dragon Flash turned out to be a lifesaver to get rid of the second ape. Along with the Purple Umbrella of course against the terror scream.
With O'Rin of the Water, I found myself using Sabimaru again plus Ichimonji Double to manage my posture (because boy does that take a hit if you mistime your deflect).

The reason I'm writing this post is because I'm having mixed feelings about all this. Should I be ashamed for failing at using only swordplay? Or should I just enjoy the ride of getting to know more tools and arts and using them when appropriate?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

Owl is like Artorias I guess

    Posted: 29 May 2020 01:54 PM PDT

I had this idea because I saw him do the overhead flip Artorias does and Owl raised a wolf. I don't know if I'm actually stupid and haven't noticed it all this time, or if anyone else has seen it. Just a little observation.

Table for Cheat engine to make bosses fight each other

    Posted: 29 May 2020 09:30 PM PDT

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could give me the table link that I have to use to make bosses fight each other in Sekiro. There are amazing channels like PO88 who do this and I'd like to try it too. I would highly appreciate it if anyone could tell me if they know.

    Thanks a ton!

Fml I'm the biggest dumbass ever.

    Posted: 29 May 2020 05:41 PM PDT

I've been trying to fight this damn Schichimen Warrior at Fountainhead for the longest time. I've never been able to get a death blow on him, but I read that you can get something called an anti air death blow text or something that lets you do so, from an NPC named Blackhat Badger. Now, I've been winging it for most of this game, relying on little to no help from guides, so I've missed a lot. And I havent played in months and don't recall ever having met this Blackhat fellow. So I looked up his locations and the info on the wiki was kinda vague, so my dumbass went all over the place at Ashina Castle, when the house with the hole in the roof was right behind the idol.. Not there. So then I went all the way back through Senpou Temple, all the idols, and could not find him. So I finally caved and looked up a video walkthrough and found out he's right by the idol.. I looked up at my screen and I was looking right at him where I gave up searching and didn't even see him...

But wait, he's not selling anything! I cant buy the deathblow text! So I progress his story to the grave in the cave.. still cant buy anything. So I said fuck it and killed him. Then went to the offering box to get the text.. I already had it all along.... fml hard I'm the biggest idiot ever. Did killing him ruin anything for me...?

Unpopular Opinion: Owl(father) is actually harder than isshin

    Posted: 29 May 2020 09:12 PM PDT

I have already beat the game, but I didn't get Hirata memory 2(Owl Bell) for the purification end.

Fast Forward to NG1 beat all bosses easily and now I'm at Owl(father) and man this guy is difficult. If I run he eats my ass and if I stay he breaks my posture or I fail to deflect and instakill goddammit. I'm on my third/fourth day trying to defeat him and is a matter of luck to defeat his first phase, but whenever i get to his second phase I die for being too desperate.

Isshin didn't offer me half the problems the Owl has gave me.

I have already discovered that I need to be agressive and It is a matter of time until I defeat him, I just wanted to get this out of my chest.

I really love this game but could use advise

    Posted: 29 May 2020 06:51 PM PDT

The issue im having is with losing the attention of an enemy. Say for example i catch an enemies attention and go behind a wall breaking line if sight. Standard stuff. But then lets say i go over the wall, without being seen, the enemy still knows my location. Also whats with getting hit by oil pots through walls?

    What to play after Sekiro?

    Posted: 29 May 2020 03:56 PM PDT

On PC. I am considering Nioh and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. What are the similarities and main differences between these titles and Sekiro?
