Just beat my first playthrough. Took me about two hours to get down isshin's rhythm. That is a satisfying fight. Time for ng+

Two of my proudest trophies. Can't decide which one was harder to get. Bloodborne certainly was more time consuming with its chalice dungeons. But I think Sekiro rage factor was slightly higher haha

My friend had been stuck on this boss and beat her, so I text him when I won but it turned out she need another deathblow and almost cost me my win

    First time player here-

How do I keep myself from not giving up and just completely throwing this game away? Because that's what the Guardian Ape makes me want to do. I've been fine so far since each boss (and mini-boss) has a pattern and a way to beat them (mainly using the parrying combat that this game seems resolved around) but then they throw this fucking crackhead of a goddamn boss that you can't parry, his fucking unblockable grab has the goddamn reach and accuracy of a fucking guided missile, don't forget the unholy masochistic second stage where if you die you'll have to spend another five miserable hours on his first stage. Isshin is used to teach players that you need to stay close to your opponents and parry as much as you can while also using their openings to your advantage then they throw this fucker at you while saying, "Ha ha, Ape go screech" it's fucking stupid and makes you throw everything the last boss was meant to teach you out the goddamn window.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk

    #Seikro. Hardest game

    Posted: 03 Jun 2020 12:18 AM PDT

This game has a learning curve I have never encountered before

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 02:07 PM PDT

So - I started with Sekiro early May, coming from Souls. As an older guy with slower reflexes I dreaded the game.

And boy did I struggle. First hurdle was Chained Ogre, who kept me at bay for like 3 (4?) hours. I spent two days at each - Genichiro, Owl Father, DoH and Sword Saint. This was not your casual "an hour in the evening", but 5-6 hours a day with small breaks in between. But I prevailed in the end. I was happy, but it was a real slog and sweaty struggle.

As a completionist I wanted to do the Shura ending as well, so I started a new game from scratch (not NG+). And then this weird thing happened - I absolutely dominated all the minibosses and bosses on my 2nd playthrough: Gyoubu 2 tries, Lady Butterfly 2, Genichiro 3, Ape 1, Headless Ape 2, Monk 2. Emma & Isshin took me an hour and a half with my son keeping me distracted.

I have numerous cycles (2-3 playthroughs in each) in Souls games as well, but I never experienced this kind of a sudden spike in playing skill or whatever one would call it. This obviously has to do with the game design, but I am very intrigued as I have never experienced this kind of a moment in my 20+ years of gaming before.

So anybody on the fence and hesitating (pun intended) to dive into this game - give it a try!

I really want to get into Sekiro, BUT...

    Posted: 03 Jun 2020 01:13 AM PDT

i have a fear of bugs and i heard about centipides being in the game and even centipide bosses. are the centipides only bosses or are they also common enemies? if they are only bosses, are those bosses optional? i REALLY want to get into this game cause it looks really cool (and i also beat BB into the ground and im bored) but this is holding me back. Thanks in advance!
