Long term benefits of finishing sekiro.

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 04:56 AM PST

So these are some observations that I picked up when playing other games after sekiro.(god of war, ghost of tsushima, ac Valhalla )

    1. You will be surprised by how much damage your attack does to others.
    2. You will ALSO be surprised by how much less of a damage you take from others.
    3. The parry window is jokingly long and becomes a cake walk.
    4. The main boss fights look nothing more than gimmicks compared even to the minibosses in sekiro.
    5. Timing based attacks are a breeze for you now.

    Disadvantages after playing sekiro

No other combat mechanics are as impressive and you will find yourself crawling back to sekiro for that sweet sound of swords clashing.

When you mikiri counter everyone in the game, but then owl starts mikiri countering your ass. (I don’t know how to edit and stuff so the image on implies to owl mikiri countering me back to dragonrot town)

Not gonna lie, I almost quit playing

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 09:29 PM PST

I just got to the hidden forest and after beating the mini boss in ashina depths, I was kinda disheartened. That mini boss was stupid hard, mainly because of the other enemies so widely distributed throughout the room and she starts shooting you pretty much immediately. I only even beat her cause she got cheesed on a slanted hut roof and couldn't/wouldn't drop down to the ground and kept trying to attack me from up there. I would just jump and hit her after she attacked. Even still I ended it with no gourds left. Like damn. After that shit and then finding out that by the looks of things on the internet, I'm not even halfway through the game, I kinda just felt like giving up.

But, I just saw some people on this page talking about how that was their least favorite boss in the game, so maybe gives me hope about continuing on. I thought genichiro was hard because of the 3 levels, but genichiro is just about growth and learning. Fuck those gun pussies.

Anyone else feels like the final fight is too long?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 12:13 AM PST

As the title says. It feels like the final fight is way too long. I don't mean the full battle once you get a grip on his patterns, but the tedious learning process. I get this game forces you to learn the patterns before you can win, but why the hell did they put genichiro and 3 health bars of Isshin there. After 5 hours of trying I got Genichiro and phase 1 of SS with ease and more often than not without damage. It's just sooo annoying that you have to go through them everytime you want to tackle phase 2 (obviously the most difficult one). Not to mention that one slip of your focus gets you killed more often than not, or at least have you waste precious healing gourds. Sekiro was an awesome game, but this final fight made me quit. Not because I couldn't do it in the long run (I was two blows away of killing him at one point), but it was so time consuming and frankly not fun anymore. Anyone else feel the same?

I can’t get back to certain statues

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 11:58 PM PST

I beat the dragon boss and I want to go and fight some other mini bosses and demon of hatred before I fight isshin. I can't figure out a way to get back to them so am I locked out of the bosses? I'm locked out of basically all of ashina outskirts

Am I missing something with the Shuriken?

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 11:15 PM PST

So I just got the game and Im not very far, but I don't understand that this Shuriken is supposed to be useful for. It doesn't seem to do any more damage to health or posture then a normal sword strike nor does it seem to stun them, so what's it good for?

Can Someone Tell Me How To Beat Isshin Ashina?

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 04:11 PM PST

Emma was a huge struggle for a while but with some more patience and the Floating Passage combat art, I can fair well with her. Isshin, for some reason, is giving me hell! Floating Passage ain't cutting it anymore. I tried a Shadow rush cheese strategy and damn near used all my good consumables. Mortal draw sucks against him (but really I suck so no one else has to say it lol). I just can't seem to do it! Ichimomii double is great for posture dmg, I'm aware of that, but it's too damn slow and hard to time properly. Please, someone help 😖

    Tips for Gauntlets?

    Posted: 17 Feb 2021 09:55 PM PST

I'm on NG+2 and doing the severance Gauntlet and damn today is not my day right now! I can't get past the guardian ape without nearly dying all the way and Owl's got me again. Bastard.

What do y'all do when you're having a slump? I play some regular game for a minute, practice each boss that gives me trouble, or take a break for a night.

I want that Tengu outfit, y'all. I wanna be as cool as daddy Isshin. 😭
