    Man I finnaly beat him on my first play though definelty did not get all his attacks down for parrying and I was feeling rusty but I finnaly got to the third faze after starting fighting him yesterday and I was just lucky enough to get the lighting counter down I'm definelty gonna have to get way better at the parting mechanics since when I fought owl I was parting almost everything but is him animations are a lot harder to read anyways I'm super happy and excited to learn even more

    Umbrella counter and ishimunji double are godsends was the major reason I could keep on him to get posture damage but last phase I played safe and used a doll for resurrection which I did nit end up using but the divine grass came in clutch

    Holy shit the last boss

    Its not enough we have to skip 2 freaking cutscenes every time but also fight a boss we already defeated, who serves more as a nuisance than a real threat (-1 gourd might as well restart). Like the last boss isn't enough of a pain. Im seriously thinking about giving up. Got to the last phase 2 times but holy shit do i hate the design both of the fight but also the whole process of getting to the real meat of it. Like the whole game has learnable, manageable bosses. This one feels like its designed only for cheese or experts, meaning most of the players will feel unfulfilled. I cant even see myself enjoying it anymore, even if I won. Really unfulfilling, sours the rest of the game which was actually fun.

    Proper Lightning Reversal works for okami warriors, but not for genichiro or ishhin?

    If you did not know already, you can do a special lightning reversal where you jump, deflect in mid air and then attack. Normally against the okami warriors that can use lightning, you would not take the chip damage you take from doing a lightning reversal (note that with this method you also can swing the reversal faster)

    However, I noticed that whenever I try Ishhin sword saint and genichiro, I still take the chip damage doing this but I get the bonus swing speed from the deflect lightning reversal. Is there something I am not getting here or is this just an inconsistency?

    As the title says. I played in Japanese with subtitles, and I can't understand what Sekiro says at that point. Searching through Google and Translate didn't prove to be of much use. Can anyone tell me?

    Isshin’s Blade vs Black Mortal Blade Gallery

    Does Isshin use the Black Mortal Blade in the Intro Theory (Hanbei Manga spoilers)

    So if you've beaten the game you know of the plot twist of the Black Mortal Blade the Genichiro uses to attempt to kill you.

    You may not know however that Isshin uses a very similar looking blade in the intro... just look at its design. You can just barely make out the design on the hand guard and hilt but it's EXACTLY the same as the black blades.

    If this is indeed the Black Mortal Blade, we now have a reason for why Tomoe would attempt to fight Isshin as she and Takeru was searching for such a blade and we know she does eventually get the Black Blade.

    However, as interesting as a theory as this is, it has a fatal flaw. The blade Isshin uses in the intro, is not black. It's metal. And the design of the blade is no mistake because the same blade is used by Isshin in the Hanbei manga. Obviously, the Black Blade would be black but the one Isshin is using is not black in the cinematic or manga, so this is no mistake.

    Another HUGE flaw with this theory is that, in the Hanbei Manga, right after Isshin kills General Tamura, he is challenged by Hanbei the undying, who then has his head split in half down to his torso by Isshin's blade. The same blade that resembles the Mortal Blade. While it is true that to kill an infested you must use a Mortal Blade on the Centipede inside the Infested, Isshin left Hanbei, despite inflicting an injury that should've revealed the Centipede and Isshin, if he did possess the Mortal Blade at the time, could've finished off Hanbei, who just swore revenge on Isshin.

    It could be possible that this blade was later made into a Mortal Blade but no such lore exists within Sekiro, so this is very unlikely.

    While the Blade Isshin uses is Extremely similar to the Black Mortal Blade or may be a base used for it, I do not think it is the Black Mortal Blade, at least not with the information we have. It could be reused assets, or I could be onto something.
