obligatory 'I just beat Genichiro' Posted: 26 May 2020 09:30 PM PDT thanks to some youtube tutorials, this took me fewer than 10 attempts and a whole lotta curse words. strategy was decidedly uncreative, but it worked: ichimonji double + fistfuls of ash. threw nine clumps and one firecracker burst to get in some free ichimonji strikes. i had always overlooked the ash, but now am realizing its value — it's almost like having another firecracker burst (in case you run out of emblems). gonna jump out of a kite now and yell "W0000OOOoo..." on the way down. Posted: 26 May 2020 03:49 PM PDT So does anyone else find the game [New Game or New Game +] a breeze after beating it once? Dont get me wrong, i enjoy looking badass while cleaving through boss after boss after they gave me so much trouble the first go around. Im just wondering if anyone else noticed this as well. Posted: 26 May 2020 08:26 PM PDT I recently bought Sekiro for my PS4 and I was wondering if there were any tips/suggestions that you guys would feel necessary to throw my way for my first playthrough. I have never played a Soulsborne game before but I am a huge fan of samurai and this game looks pretty dope. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 May 2020 02:44 PM PDT I know these posts come in the dozens but I just had to share. I got this game being a huge Soulsborne fan for years and thought I would jump in right away being a pro and I quickly realized this was a different animal completely. I hit a wall with Lady Butterfly and put it down saying it wasn't for me. Quarantine has had me play and beat the whole soulsborne catalog and I picked Sekiro back up and after finally beating Genichiro I have to say this game is a masterpiece. For all it's similarities to the From formula it is wildly different and I'm glad I picked it back up. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 May 2020 05:10 PM PDT I've had this game since day one and today, After 1 year, I finally beat it. I've played 4 out of the 5 SoulsBorne games and platinumed DS3 & Bloodborne by myself. This game is easily harder than those 2 games combined, Jesus Christ. I know I'm gonna go for the other endings but not until I take a long break from this game. [link] [comments]
Sekiro is the best and most difficult soulsborne game. Posted: 27 May 2020 12:07 AM PDT Sekiro is by far the best and the most difficult soulsborne game to me. I've played original dark souls and bloodborne and I think in terms of difficulty and in many ways gameplay sekiro is just better. After beating sekiro, first game I tried was dark souls. I feel like dark souls early level design outclassed sekiro but later on it falters hard with shit izalith, tomb of the giants, and archives. Dark souls combat was so incredibly boring compared to sekiro. After attempting to play aggressive like I did in sekiro for several of the early game encounters, I ended up just picking up a crest shield and circle strafing with a sword. This trivialized the entire game basically besides for a few parts like the giant skeletons in tomb of the giants. Highlights of dark souls for me were definetly the level and world design as well as some boss fights. But the bosses were so easy compared to sekiro and the checkpoints were spaced so far away that most of the time. It wasn't the boss that was frustrating, I was getting mad at the 2 minute runback. The four kings was ridiculous and is a great example of this. Sekiro fixes this with well placed idols right next to bosses so you can focus on fighting the boss. Bloodborne is even easier than dark souls in a lot of ways, "challenging enemies" are trivialized by spamming attacks which will stun lock them 9/10 times giving you a free kill. Rallying makes it so if you play balls to the wall aggresive you don't even need to heal. Bosses in bloodborne were far more difficult than in dark souls but are still nowhere near as hard as in sekiro. I know I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but I 2nd tried orphan and he is supposed to be the hardest boss in soulsborne. Sekiro fixes so many of the problems with the other games by giving you checkpoints close to bosses, which subsequently allows them to make bosses really hard. The combat encourages aggression instead of circle strafe back stab but doesn't make it brain dead easy like in bloodborne. The level and world design is on par with the rest of the series and the atmosphere is brilliant like it is in bloodborne. Great changes imo are the removal of summoning, magic, and most importantly. Farming and the rpg elements of soulsborne. In sekiro the world design is far more linear and this allows for the bosses to be designed more around what specifically the player's level should be at that point in the game. On the other hand, in dark souls later half, obtaining the lord vessel opens 4 paths which should be fine due to player choice. But ends up breaking the game since the four areas need to be equally hard. But progressing through them makes the areas you do last incredibly easy. Since character progression is no longer tied to stats, it's no longer possible to trivialize bosses by farming for an hour. I love this take on dark souls and I believe it's the strongest in the series. TLDR: Sekiros more linear level and world design allows for better designed difficulty and improves upon the combat of all the other games. Its well spaced checkpoints encourage the player to try multiple times on bosses instead of giving up due to the tedium of walk back. Removing farming from the game as well as other mechanics such as summoning allow the game to be much better designed in terms of difficulty. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 May 2020 07:18 PM PDT I'm at what I have to imagine is the choice that will determine which route I take for the rest of the game. I assume each will take me to some different boss fights. If I was planning to play through a second time, which route would make the most sense to do first, assuming I'm going to NG+ when I'm done. (Don't plan on getting the platinum if that makes a difference) If it doesn't make a huge difference, which is quickest. [link] [comments] |
